We have a Darwin Award winner John Allen Chau "An American tourist trying to visit a lush, remote island in India has been killed by an island tribe completely cut off from the outside world and known to attack outsiders with bows and arrows." https://www.foxnews.com/us/american-believed-to-have-been-killed-by-tribe-on-indian-island I just can't feel sympathy for invading their space when they are known to be violent. It's like complained the fire burnt you when you put your hand in it.
That tribe has been known to throw spears at low flying planes and helicopters. That region of the world is rich with great SCUBA and snorkeling. Just stay off that island.
If this is true then good riddance. People who spread religion always get into trouble and everyone has to bail them out.
It's probably fake news, only white people can be violent. When colored people are violent, it's because some white people which manipulated them to be violent. Or maybe this island is inhabited by white people.
At least he was an adventurer, dying while doing what he loved to do. Maybe that's preferable over dying in a hospital bed after years of increasing disability -- the unfortunate fate of most of us.
I don't know, it's extremly well-known that the inhabitant of the sentinel islands are extremly hostile toward foreigners. People which were slaughtered during WW1 and 2 didn't died in a hospital bed after years of increasing disability, do I envy them ? No.
I really don't think the guy preferred to die at his age. Even with medical complications in his 80s, probably would have preferred to live 2X as long as he did.
Interesting. I just read The River of Doubt about TR Roosevelt's South American travels. A cautionary tale Chau should have read.
Or he could have just chosen to make a few "wiser" decisions about his adventure travel. In fact, the people who took him to that forbidden island are being sought after. Pretty stupid move on his part.
I'm surprised god didn't protect him. Oh well, he's a martyr now. Someone will want to make him a saint.
Well, the sad reality for Chau is his failure to acknowledge it is the nature of the human species to gather together for mutual protection, and to defend their culture when they perceive it is threatened. While this result is in the most basic of examples, it explains why the "one big global melting pot" of open borders, etc., is ignorant of the evolution of human beings.
I give the dude major props. He went for it in an extreme way for something he was passionate about and was of extreme importance to him. Very few people can claim such a selfless act.
What a shame about John Allen Chau. Nice looking kid with a buff body and hairy chest. Since he was a virile young man these short pudgy savage's mouths were probably watering as soon as they laid eyes on him. Think tasty meal. Cannibals eat victims to acquire characteristics they desire to have for themselves. His impressive manly parts are probably tacked to a hut wall as a trophy. Describing the Sentinelese tribe of India's remote Andaman islands in his travel journals, the notoriously trite 13th-century explorer Marco Polo wrote: 'They are a most violent and cruel generation who seem to eat everybody they catch.' I understand Chau’s desire to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but fellow Christians, you must use common sense. When it is illegal to go to a country or island, you respect the law. Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s (Mark 12:17) . Use or support other means to get your message out. Newspaper, Internet, mail, radio, TV, or drop leaflets from a helicopter with pictures or symbols for the illiterate primitive cultures. Or if you find yourself legally in an area that does not want your message, shake the dust off your feet and go (Luke 9:5). If there is one individual on that island who would believe in Christ as Savior, the God of the Universe is perfectly capable of getting that information to him or her. If needs be He can turn a tree into a loudspeaker with a crystal clear message in their own language! If he knows none of the savages will accept the Gospel , He is not obligated to get the message to them.
