Dave was a co-star on the firsts 2 seasons of the TV show "Dual Survival". Since they fired him, he's posted over 1000 'how to" videos on youtube. Nearly all are of great value, but he's out of his nut on this single shot shotgun and muzzleloader stuff. He's just choosing to overlook the years of fighting and predation that will precede anyone's needing "long term" foraging, and also overlooking the fact that all the game will be long gone. :) You can always hunt with a proper combat rifle, but you can't fight (worth a hoot) with any single shot, much less a muzzleloader. So why handicap yourself like that?

You can have a 3.5 lb Marlin Papoose, and 130+ rds per lb of .22lr ammo. The 12 ga is about 10 shells to the lb,and the gun itself weighs 6 lbs. For the same 7 lb total load that you'd get with a single shot 12 ga and 10 shells, you could have over 450 shots of .22lr, and you'd also have the advantge of 5 hits per second and if you want, either a sound suppressor or the use of quiet CB Cap ammo.
