seems to be a pretty strong troll on leftism. And fairly hilarious.

FSR I always just assumed Chappelle was a run-o-the-mill leftist. I appear to have been wrong.

    Topics covered (!!spoiler alert!!):

    PC culture is ruining comedy.

Women should be able to abort ...but men shouldn't have to pay child support.

Taking guns from white people is impossible ...so all blacks should get guns to save America.

He hates guns... and owns several to protect his home from white trespassers.

The opioid epidemic is white peoples crack epidemic, and he no longer blames whites for not caring then because he doesnt care now.

    #MeToo has gone too far.

Black people knew Smollett was lying the hole time.

Some ambiguously offensive stuff about the trans movement, and rebellious use of the word 'fa**ot.'

Overall I laughed a lot and highly recomend it to anyone that gets over being offended quickly :)

Chappelle just might be a closet conservative convert. Or at least he plays one pretty well on TV.

My take is that Chappelle is a great comedian and understands that great comedy cannot be constrained into narrow, preapproved subjects and opinions. Today's PC is a direct threat to what he does.

i am not very big on comedy in general and not on Chappelle in particular. However, I have always regarded Chappelle as a genuinely edgy comedian who dares joke about what you cannot joke about. I remember old sketches where he talks about how White people face racism too and how he, with his great talent for impressions, impersonates a White man; not in a predictable way of doing an exaggerated racist redneck, but just a "normal office worker".

Unpredictable and edgy. A comedian who actually does what a comedian should do; make us laugh at what we are told not to laugh at.

I have heard good things about his latest show, but I will probably not watch it.

Nope. He is a big fan of Obama and the only convert that he is, is that of a Muslim one - Chappelle actually converted to Islam a couple of years ago and has three children with Arabic names.

Chappelle is a Democrat, but he has actual talent and skill for what he is doing and understands the purpose of his job. This is why he is not as boring, repetetive, predictable and politically biased as his collegues.

I don't know why you think he isn't a leftist. He is. However even leftist comedians are threatened by political correctness.

I did see the special and it was OK, but not really full of laughs but it was well produced.

I don't think he's a run of the mill leftist. Or, not an 'average' leftist. Addmitedly, that's a very poor description on my part, but suffice to say, he's not portraying himself anything like the leftists I know personally. Presuming the anti-white racism in his act is for show, but his political stances are genuine (which is, of course, a big assumption, but that's what I see as the likely scenario), he seems far more closely to be a libertarian, or classical liberal, to me.

I didn't get the slightest classical liberal vibe from that special. He's just like most comedians who don't want their careers ruined by some over the top candidate.

His use of the term, "Alphabet People" was worth the price of admission. And pointing his finger at his own audience blaming them for counter culture? Brave. His worst transgression? Making the "I identify as something wacky" joke is played out. That isn't being offensive. Just not original enough to merit a laugh. For a comedian? That is bad!
