Sat November 18, 2017 - "Nothing is imminent," his publicist says. "We are taking it day by day." He was a superstar on the level of Elvis Presley and the Beatles

David Cassidy has been really open about his alcohol abuse. I didnt know his mom died from early stage dementia, which he is also suffering from.
So many icons are dying & it really sucks. David Bowie, Prince,George Michael,Glenn Frey, Chris Cornell,Tom Petty, Carrie Fisher. Malcolm Young...
Then there is Kieth Richards lol

It's funny to listen to Danny Bonaduce talk about their days on the show. Women, women, women... And while Cassidy was playing a pop star and was a pop star, his real love was hard rock. After they did the show it was hard rock, drugs, and sex. Funny too, Susan Dey was in love with him and he broke her heart. :(

Bonaduce doesn't seem to like Cassidy much. Says he's nuts. But I'm not sure what that means coming from Bonaduce!

One of the most unpleasant one because so many interventions becomes a 'damned if you do' scenaros. It is more miserable because of the dynamics of longstanding addiction complicate and compromise the potential healing and support at the bedside. they sometimes die alone, or with only a late stage drinking companion or two who visit.

They often die alone, or with only a fellow addict visiting.
transplants are not just sitting on a shelf when someone's liver goes bad. There is quite the process to ensure the 'investment' will pay off. These are not deemed good candidates as long as they keep drinking and live unstable lives without support systems. All they have is end stage and multiple organ failure - and another bottle- to look forward to.

He has dementia as well, so he does not even know what is happening. Which is actually a plus in a way

    It's over.

    http://variety.com/2017/music/people-news/david-cassidy-dead-dies-partridge-family-1202618273/

David Cassidy, pop culture idol of the 1970s, died Tuesday in a Florida hospital. The musician and actor was 67.

His publicist JoAnn Geffen confirmed his death, with a statement from his family. “On behalf of the entire Cassidy family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our uncle, and our dear brother, David Cassidy. David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.”

He had been hospitalized for several days with organ failure. Cassidy announced his diagnosis with dementia in early 2017. He performed at the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York in March, talking about his dementia, and said his arthritis made playing guitar an ordeal.

Well icons come and icons go - that's life? Depends on the definition of 'iconic' I guess?

    R.I.P.

Despite his fame (or partly because of it)...he seemed to be a troubled soul.

Hopefully he has found peace now.
