Conservatives go with what works. Libs go with what feels good.

this is why it’s easy for you to be indifferent to the suffering of others. You create an image so you can rationalize not wanting to help. Most poor people work and most poor people work at minimum wage of $7.25.
I remember men like you saying the same thing about homemakers

My family should not have money taken away from us to have it given to someone who has made poor life decisions.

That is the point that I have been making. Look at the data. There is no welfare system in the US that allows able bodied people to just collect free money and sit around and do nothing. Public assistance goes almost exclusively to those who are incapable of caring for themselves, mostly the elderly, disabled, and small children.

You seem to have accepted conservative rhetoric as if it were fact. Outside of your cult, there is a great big world that is not at all as you appear to believe it is.

Actually the plan, all along, has been to tax the wealthiest to pay for the care of the most vulnerable. Yet somehow the right wing (those who think the wealthy should rule) have convinced legions of conservative average Joes that somehow they are better off if the wealthy pay much less in taxes.

And, I'm sure, living in that cardboard box behind the furniture store, that you aren't seeing any real benefit from the recent tax cuts.

Tell us again how you believe the state should force others to abide by your - and just your - version of morality.

Yep, like being born in poverty...like being in inferior schools, like being a child. Let’s punish children because their parents couldn’t get out of poverty. My family should not have money taken away from me to help roads that I don’t drive on.. those people shouldn’t have moved there. .(sarcasm alert) the rightwing part has become the party of the greedy and inhumane
Ps I want the budget cut for the military, I don’t want wars

But you DO want everyone to abide by your version of morality, and you want the state to make sure that happens.,

At one time, my brother simultaneously paid:

    1) Connecticut state income taxes
    2) New York State income taxes
    3) New York City income taxes
    4) federal income taxes

After taxes, he was taking home less than half of his paycheck. That is outrageous. Lots of mooching going on by fat government bureaucrats.

In my town in Texas, more than half of our local property taxes are taken by the state and redistributed to "poor" districts do they can build football stadiums. Meanwhile, many of our kids have no textbooks because the state takes so much of our local tax money.

    Redistribution sucks.

    Take, take, take.

This is something that lately seems to keep jumping out to me. It's not just pathological lying, but a concerted effort.

It's the law. If you live in Connecticut and work in New York City, you pay Connecticut, New York State, and New York City income taxes (all three). Then the Feds want their cut, also.

    Governments takes too much money.

Why doesn't he find a job in CT? That way he wouldn't have to pay so much in taxes.

You go where your job takes you. There was a time when I lived in NYC and worked in New Brunswick NJ. That's a 140 mile round trip daily.

That is not a 100% accurate statement. You can also go where you want to work.

There are times I when you do what's best for your family. I changed my job as soon as possible to reduce my commute.

As I said, he had a lousy accountant

You must click Yes to the question about earning income in another state. You're going to have to file a non-resident tax return in NY and a resident tax return in CT. You won't be double-taxed, because CT will give you a credit for whatever tax you have to pay to NY on the same income. Do the non-resident NY return first, before you do the CT return.
