Not at all. But in this case the decision is designed to advantage the very thing we need to discourage..........oil and gas exploration. This is where the holistic views of Trumpette's and rational, science based citizens become at odds. You see wiping out plant and animal species as perfectly acceptable in pursuit of energy independence. We see another dickish decision to excite the base, pay off legacy energy company donations, and do even more harm to the health of the planet.
Just to be clear......man made global warming is now a crisis unfolding before our eyes.

We need more CONSERVATIVE white male perspective in modern day America...... a hell of a lot more CONSERVATIVE white male perspective. The only perspective we have today is the white man is oppressing minorities perspective, the minorities are a victim perspective, the America needs more minority immigrants that are victims perspective.

Ironically that perspective is a self-hating white male perspective (Foucalt, Derrida, Lyotard, Baudrillard). Today's dueling ideologies were all created by white males and are therefor still white male perspectives. As far as I know, the most powerful extant ideology that was not founded by white males is Islam, and it is perhaps the ideology most opposed to human rights and human development on earth today.

He could be referring to people collecting unemployment and severance simultaneously. In many cases, that is better than not working.

For those who care about fellow human beings there was the huge problem of the uninsured..........not to mention medical cost inflation was on pace to bankrupt the country since we spend so much more than other developed countries for inferior healthcare. The ACA was a flawed attempt to address both problems. We'll never know how effective it would have been due to years of Repub sabotage instead of working with Dems to make the system better.

There were ~ 10 million who couldn’t afford health insurance. And that could have solved easily by allowing purchase across state lines. To solve that the D’s passed using a whacked up interpretation of reconciliation passed the disaster aka ObamaCare.

The Constitutional Republic is democratic. The people elect both legislative branches. The states are represented in the Senate. Where the will of the majority is compromised is in the Senate 60 vote rule.

The lack of political will and a misinformed public kept us from moving to a public option, which is what should have happened. As it was, the ACA was a compromise bill that could have been improved on, indeed needed to be improved on. But Repubs were hellbent on killing it as soon as it passed. They could have done what was right for the country but instead chose the politically expedient path of sabotage and propaganda. Now that the ACA has been around for years, albeit in a modified form Repubs have worked on to try to make it fail, it is more popular than ever.

Any increase you had was NOT because of the ACA but rather a function of the private insurer you chose...with the possible exception that you may have a super cheap plan that actually covered almost nothing and now have actual insurance
