It doesn't surprise me in the least that the EU and USA classify them as equal. Those two syndicates are bastions of white supremacist doctrine.

why would they? They don’t have the crime rate of Chicago, there’s no need.

I'm not seeing any link between being a bastions of white supremacy and outlawing discrimination.

Putting religious persecution alongside racial persecution. Clearly racial persecution is a worse offense but given you can't change your race and whites dictate the laws in Europe it's no surprise they have declined to acknowledge this and thus racial persecution is not deemed exceptional

    Just no.
You are free to believe in whatever. And to discriminate against religious background is just fascist/communistic. And there is an opinion about it.

That you disagree, and apparently think discriminating a Muslim for it's religion isn't such a biggy, but discriminating based on ethnic background is (and so when all is equally bad, it means discrimination based on ethnicity is watered down): that's on you.

Just because you think racial persecution is not a biggy it doesn't mean it isn't. That's your opinion, that's on you alone.

    This isn't rocket science.

    Hang on a minute

You think changing religion is easy? It is not. It is part of self identity and for many to change religion means they will be damned. Why did so many Jews not renounce their religion? Throughout history in every western religious based war there has been the opportunity for one side to change religions and they haven’t.

Oh! It’s a biggie alright and implicit bias is an actual thing but don’t diminish religious persecution either

    Mate - I haven’t even tried changing religion :p

But in some small ways I have been marginalised as a white person as I live and work in an area with a high number of indigenous people and despaired that they do not trust me because of my skin colour. Still, though, a smile does go a long way.

what I love about the internet is that I usually have no idea what is the “colour” of the person I am talking to. For all I know you could be a green and purple alien hovering above Jupiter in your spacecraft:p

You seem to think (or at least hint that it is) that when others say
religious persecution = racial persecution. That it means religious persecution = not a biggy, so religious persecution is also not a biggy. And this is wrong.

    While it's:
religious persecution = racial persecution. Racial persecution is big, and so religious persecution is also big.

That seem you think religious persecution = not a biggy, is all on you and your flawed norms. Does this go with an idea like it's not that bad to discriminate Muslims for being Muslim? I think you got them idea's. While according to the law,... that way of thinking is just as bad as your random racist. Which is bad. Mkay. Like really rally bad. Mkay.

Lol.what a pointless discussion this turned into. It had potential but ithink you're hiding or maybe English is not your native language. If so my apologies.

You are basically saying...on a scale of 1 to 10....
persecution based on race is like a 10, and religion is like an 8 since you can change religion but not race.
Thing is. You're indirectly hinting that when a person is discriminated on religion it's partially it's own fault on a scale 2 out of 10 for not changing it.
Or putting it an other way: you are partially blaming the victim.

Maybe English is your native language, but your norms and values are just stupid and not according to the law which has logically put all kinds of discrimination on the same level.

    I always understood.

And your norms have always been wrong. You're no better then giving sympathy for a rapist when looking you see the victim was wearing a short dress.
Such a thing doesn't hold up in court, no matter how much you disagree.
You're just out of touch with what a modern western society is.

    There you go.

And it seems you liked to be excused when discriminating others over their religion.

You could have just be open about it, and said you support discriminating Muslims and find nothing wrong with it.
But instead of this, you played all these charades as if we wouldn't know.
