Defunding Planned Parenthood would lead to thousands more births, CBO says

Irresponsible parents raise irresponsible kids. Or they wind up not caring for the kids, in which case the state takes over. Birth control is far cheaper than having several additional people draining the system.*

*Note: I don't personally think this way, as far as the tone is concerned, I'm just trying to speak the language of the more right-wing folks here.

Planned Parenthood is not a federal agency though. They are a private organization that operates in all of the state and local areas.

My bc is not covered by my insurance either, and it cost me $9/month at Wal Mart. The Hobby Lobby employees can still visit the gyn for a yearly checkup, receive mammograms, and all other services that PP offers using their discounted obamacare policy or medicaid. And did you really just suggest that we continue to fund an "extra" service for women for one companies employees? PP is no longer needed.

What they charge now is at least partially subsidized by federal monies. No abortion services are paid for with federal money.

Eliminating funding will eliminate those subsidies making birth control less affordable thus, more births.

 

What layer of bureaucracy are you talking about? Planned Parenthood doesn't require any more overhead than any other organization that gets funding from the government. The bureaucracy that handles that would continue to exist to handle other organizations even if Planned Parenthood no longer received any money from the government.

 

If they are not getting federal tax grant dollars, then why is there talk about defunding them? Nothing to see here!!
