Democrats do no such thing as preferring the things you mentioned over Christianity (not god, there are many gods). It's only your RW media that tell you Dems do that, so they can foster more hatred for financial gain.

I was brought up as a Catholic. While at one point I became an agnostic, I still think that the recipe for human conduct laid out by the New Testament is a good one -- if people could only adhere to it.

From what I see, most RW evangelicals in the US usually preach a good game about morality, but their actual behavior is in stark contrast. If they would actually follow the teaching of Christ, they would not hate foreigners, but rather invite them into their homes and feed them. They would not hate Democrats. They would not love a serial adulterer and divorcee, who might just be the most immoral man ever to grace the oval office. They would not constantly bear false witness (i.e. lie) about the political opposition, and the list goes on.

When they stop trying to foist their religious beliefs on everyone else, and stop being hypocrites, then maybe they can be taken more seriously. The way they currently are, their ideology is a danger to America, just like the ideology of the Taliban is a danger to Afghanistan.

 

I don't know but I'll take a SWAG. I thing they kinda equate God with regular conservative leaning people and anything even a half-way conservative does or likes is despised.

If god existed, this would not be an issue. I am far from being a Democrat, but I still oppose my tax dollar being used to promote religion. If you want to believe you were born a sinner because a snake convinced a naked lady to eat an apple, I respect your beliefs. No government interference necessary.

Republicans passed tax cuts for high-income folks, did zip to insure Americans got decent healthcare at affordable prices, talked about school vouchers and then didn't meaningfully promote them, screwed up our relations with Europe, got almost nothing from NAFTA 2.0, and antagonized Canadians who have the water and oil we need.

The worst is that economic growth in Trump's first three years was almost identical to Obama's last three despite doubling the deficit pre-covid to $1t.

The constitution was amended properly to deal with such matters and yet the secular left still reject it and are in denial that we’ve made a more perfect Union as the founders envisioned that we would.

 

They don't, and the New Testament is clear about that.

I am not a Democrat or a liberal but I was raised in a theocracy. It was Tennessee, 1940s and 1950s, and the rulers were Southern Baptists. I don't want to live in another theocracy. And, usually when people in the U.S. mention a god, or their God, they mean the Protestant Christian god and all others should be banned.

Democrats hate the Constitution and religious folks just hate the First Amendment.

 

Yes Yes, I know. Democrats tend to think, that just because the majority of them are Anti-Christ in beliefs, compared to Republicans, that we're perfect. Right? Just because most of us believe in God, doesn't mean, that we are God. We know that. I just wish that the Democrats in America would just stop comparing us to God. Only he is perfect, and no human is.
