Anything is possible, but they are not Democrats. They are democratic socialists. There is no nice in socialism. It's asking others to do your thinking, so you can do what they tell you.

I think it is the Dems to lose.

But they threw away the last one - no reason they cannot do it again.

It all depends whom they nominate for 2020.

The public may be unhappy with Trump. But Congressional districts are so gerrymanded, and so many seats are democrats to defend that they will make few gains this year.

The vote for Hillary Clinton wasn't there because the polls were skewed towards the left and didn't show what the voters really wanted.

But this time is different. I've seen an actual town election where the Democrat candidate won and replaced the multiple terms Republican town supervisor.

+The farther left a candidate is on their positions the nicer the world they want to create.

We all dream. What if their idea of nice isn't the same as mine? Do I have a right to live and be governed as I want? What is the best way to allow folks to live as happily as they can without being told how? Can they read my mind or is it just that I don't know what will make me happy?

So you vote for your issues and I vote for mine. And there's an eternal battle of left vs right wing politics. So we swerve left and right as a country.

But I think more people want the left version of things because that's the majority of the country's voters. People want to live on the grid in civilization instead of living gruff and rough off the grid.

You know I had difficulty figuring out the meaning of the second quoted block.

People vs free citizens??? Both blocks are nearly identical, but you changed some words around. So, I couldn't figure out if they had special meaning that I'm missing.

Well, I prefer a system of representation where the people vote in a government of representatives. But that the minority of people and positions are protected from mob rule.

Then you want the first one? That's how I read it. It's not like your answer will make you a Nazi or in some way heinous, but it might surprise you. It should not bring you shame.

You may select which of those two, or you can reject both. I copied and pasted them from a site. I'll provide it in a moment. The only thing I altered was where the three periods are and the words would have given away the answers. The meaning is not altered by their absence. I didn't want bias because of a word or phrase.

Edit:I need to log out. I'm so tired, I forgot I deleted that post with the three periods. What I posted is what I copied and pasted from the site. I made no changes. You will see, if you look. It's around half way down the page, I believe. Sorry for the confusion. I'm done for tonight. ee.

I think it's going to be a knock down drag out of an election. I think the Democrats (I'm a moderate liberal) will win some stuff, but I think they became a larger minority.

This isn't how politics works. The parties adapt to the new reality. The center will move and the parties will organize around it to maximize the vote.

Oh you're talking about the argument over the definition of our government. Is it a Republic or a Democracy???

Well, I generally avoid stating an opinion on that argument because it's a game of wording technicalities.

Let's say we have some form of representative government and leave it at that.

I find that people who say we have a Republic have a right-wing political agenda.

Meanwhile the minority representation I talk about is only in our voting system with the inclusion of the Electoral College.

In truth we only have muddied system not a pure one. The local government can force someone to use municipal utilities instead of living off the grid. Congress can ram a budget through with a minority of votes.

Nice? I expect we'll be back to the usual social unrest that comes with identity politics and the opposition grumbling about corruption and bloody revolution. But at least the president will probably manage to behave like an adult.

So far, what I've read about the forming of this nation leads me to believe they started a country that was close to anarchy, which is actually pretty far left. I know I am mistaken, somehow, but I haven't figured out where.

Oh, look at the site. It talks about that. No electoral college disenfranchises too many.

We have a muddles system now. Too much ignoring the Constitution and that' what you have. They think they have more power than they do.

Yeah, you can also set something up and sell electricy back to them, though a qualified electrician and engineer may be necessary to do it properly and safely. So, you don't use utility power all the time. It's at least doing your part. Lot's of folks have that set up.

Certain things need regulation and some things do not. The republic was set up so you could have done that on your own. Kill yourself doing it and you are on your own. We all have to be responsible and that's where it went wrong. Folks get lazy and irresponsible.

She'd be long forgotten if you people didn't keep raising her from the dead. Hillary's toast, rightly so, one party down, one to go.

What the Democrats need to desperately understand, is how they lost the presidential election. Folks, it was straight up stolen by illegal means, "period"; http://www.philly.com/philly/column...p-mercer-bannon-stolen-election-20180318.html
