You must be a sucker for punishment - I have been relatively nice to you thus far.

Not only do you but in to a conversation and flap your mouth without knowing the history (a stupid thing to do in general) ... you then defend the collectivist (leftist) position that Mac was taking then turn around and call me a lefty.

What idiocy on steroids is this ?

Since we are giving suggesting - may I suggest that it is better to be silent and thought of as a fool - than to speak and remove all doubt :)

More freedom and less government for capitalists to profit from deregulation and from taxpayer financed subsidies but more government from overseas wars and from more police brutality against innocents.

That is true. However in my opinion, the main reason it is a gateway drug is that the user buys it from the same yahoo who also sells crack, meth, speed and anything else he can turn a buck on. I feel if you eliminated this relationship, you would greatly reduce the gateway effect.

You do not understand individual liberty - never mind support it.

Then you continue with some gibberish comparing libs to children when it is you who have left leaning beliefs.
You wish to force your personal beliefs on others through physical violence - based on a Utilitarian justification for law - what will increase happiness for the collective ( like your convoluted mind knows what is best for the collective).

You then want to violate the rule of law by punishing one person for the action of another.

You hate the principles of Republicanism - though you do not know what these principles are.

More likely as positive spin for a government's education policies? Politicians really will sink so low as to compromise kids' life chances in order to get re-elected.

In my experience it's a class thing in Central America where the upper classes go to private schools and the lower classes are given mediocre public educations. It's designed to keep the elites in power.

In the US a poor education/indoctrination leads to greater political power for Leftists. Is it like that elsewhere?

Planting it and using it are two different things. We can do many harmful things to ourselves which may be foolish but we're free to do them. Over time Darwinism tends to sort these things out.

Good observation Fred; it's going back a bit now but I've always believed the Chilean education system worked like that, and why Pinochet tried to bring down the extreme 'loony left', who were destroying his country. But I guess it works like that in the US and UK too. Most western countries probably.

The user may feel it opens the mind but that's not so for the observer. I've used pot, even taken acid (a genuine mind opener) but, like most people, a few times was enough and soon lost interest. However some of those I experimented with did go on to cocaine, etc. and lost control of their lives. Some will lose in this game yet it won't bother others. Same with booze.

Albert E. wasn't discussing drugs when he mentioned laws, and he's a physicist anyway. His is just another opinion.

Using drugs can be self destroying and promoting them is foolish. Claiming that it 'opens your mind' is doubly so.

that is not for you to decide, many people smoke pot and drink just fine... if you have an addiction problem, then you should abstain... not everyone has your problem

many people actually benefit from moderate use of recreational drugs and alcohol, those with addiction problems need to abstain

using drugs and alcohol can both be beneficial and destructive

there is no reason to outlaw the benefits cause some people can't control themselves

the war on drugs ruins more lives then the drugs themselves, how can you justify that intentional harm to people and their families?

I also partied when younger, thank goodness I was not a victim of the war on drugs

Not that I have ever used marijuana myself, but looking at how and why this stuff was suddenly banned in the US and then by others titled as "evil" shows clearly that the thing was a total bullcrap and should never have been banned allowed.

And interesting ... not to say exemplary ridiculous ... I find in the US, that every 18 year old can legally buy a gun, but only at 21 in a bar can drink a whiskey.
I do not know which moronic idiots in the US seriously consider the legal acquisition of a potentially lethal weapon more dangerous than drinking a glass of whiskey.
Similar is the case with Pott at the end ...

    Complete and utter nonsense!

Canada violated 3 international treaties when it legalized marijuana in 2017.

Why can Canada do it but your beloved BLOTUS can't?

Don't forget that your BLOTUS has a track record of trashing treaties on a whim.
