The Democratic Party is in the same position the Republicans were in toward the end of Dubya's first term.
At the time the Republican party was mobbed-up and doing everything they claimed to be against. They used to have no real focus; no set of unifying themes to call "conservative".
Then along comes this inarticulate ideologue who (horror of horrors) actually speaks the truth, and very directly points out everything that's wrong with his own party. They dismissed him as a nut-job, but he developed such a huge following that changes were inevitable. He couldn't have been too crazy; these days everyone else is trying to sound like him, and the Republican party has changed so radically that it's hardly recognizable to it's supporters from just a decade ago.

The Democratic Party now finds itself at that crossroads. Corrupt, directionless, increasingly unpopular. What they need is somebody who's not slick, not "electable", but tells all the uncomfortable truths about his own party. Somebody who can transform liberalism from a loose collection of "positions" into a true unified philosophy. Somebody who can be dismissed as a nut-job, yet still develop a powerful grassroots movement so that the more electable Dems can crib his notes.

Do they have anyone like that?

Decades ago the Democrats were the majority party. They won election in landslides. That was before the latte liberals took over.

The Democrats should be the peace party. They should not let the Israel lobby dictate to our government. They should kick AIPAC down the stairs. We need peace more than wars for Israel.

The Democrats should offer working people a helping hand. Instead the Democrats offer Goldman Sachs a helping hand.

The old saying, "you get the government you deserve" applies to all Americans today, but Democrats (liberals) inparticular.

How far from the principles of freedom, the principles of America's founding have democrats wandered???

Seriously, they're so far removed from any understanding of honest government, republican government, limited government... that there is no saving them from themselves; there is no protecting their neighbors from them; and there is no saving our country.

Republicans aren't much better... but at least there is a vein of understanding of the principles of freedom within the Republican Party. It is a miniority position to be sure, and the leadership is just as corrupt as any Democrat - but the Democrat Party has no tolerance whatsoever for anyone that utters anything related to limited government or freedom.

In the end, the average Democrat is so ignorant about everything related to proper governance, that all they want to hear is totalitarian poetry... their leadership might as well go ahead and adopt for all to see, the Communist Manifesto as their guiding document.

The Democrats will never tolerate anyone who isn't a radical leftist, demagoguing thief.

Not very far at all. Republicans, "Libertarians", and others on the right... well, let's just say they'd have trouble seeing it with binoculars.

I've made some research about Kucinich because I didn't know anything about him. His ideas are interesting, and I think that is some kind of Ron Paul but in the lefts.

But I think that these kind of ideas don't have place in USA, for both, Ron Paul or Kucinich.
