Democrats to unveil 2 articles of impeachment Tuesday morning

We will call it Obstructing Congressional or Administrative Proceedings (18 U.S.C. 1505) then. That is what the section in the statute refers to. I think Congress will probably be a little more circumspect in writing the actual article of impeachment than the shorthand they use for media purposes.

yes. He should be impeached and tried by a jury of senators who have not already decided to sabotage the trial and engage in blatant jury nullification, but there is no voir dire process by which the House managers can excuse people like Lindsey Graham who have already decided not to bother to look at the evidence. The House should impeach and recommend he be removed but not even bother to appoint House managers to prosecute the case. They should not participate in the sham trial.

 

i agree this whole thing is such a farse. anyone with any intelligence knows this. i have never ever seen such crap in my life. it is difficult to watch and see what our country has been reduced to. embarrassing!!!! -one day it's quid-pro-quo, oh no, then bribery, oh no now obstruction, oh no abuse of power.... changes by the second... The most dramatic shift has been with the Black vote.

The recent polling showing up to 34% of Black support for Trump is hedged by where it is located. North Carolina, Michigan and Wisconsin are much more solid that they were on election night in 2016.

What exactly is Mr Trump accused of?
He is alleged to have committed "high crimes and misdemeanours" (a phrase from the US Constitution) on two counts, outlined by Mr Nadler:

• The first allegation is that he exercised the powers of his public office to "obtain an improper personal benefit while ignoring or injuring the national interest", by allegedly pressuring Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 presidential election

• The second allegation is that "when he was caught, when the House investigated and opened an impeachment inquiry, President Trump engaged in unprecedented categorical and indiscriminate defiance of the impeachment inquiry...", thereby obstructing Congress

But wait... wasn't Trump merely inquiring about the obviously corrupt activities of Joe Biden when Joe actually DID demand a genuine 'quid pro quo' from the Ukrainian oligarchs in return for the 'billion dollars'...? Oh, and didn't Trump turn over THE TRANSCRIPT that proved there was no attempt at forcing Ukraine to do anything in return for this year's money from Congress? And didn't the Ukrainian president support exactly what Trump said? And didn't Ukraine get this year's money ON TIME?!

But, all that notwithstanding, because the House Democrats only need to have a simple majority vote in order to 'impeach' the president (ANY president, for ANY reason), now they can finally get their 'revenge' for the impeachment of Bill Clinton for lying under oath to a grand jury, and obstruction, almost 21 years ago exactly. MERRY CHRISTMAS, Democrats! Hope you enjoy your fun... because when this vindictively bizarre farce gets to the Senate it will be dry, dead, and all wrapped up for burial....

Except there's no stain on the dress, no dress to be stained, no fat fat chick with a stained dress testifying that Trump stained her dress, and the supposed "victim" of Trump's "abuse of power" has insisted on multiple occasions to the effect "Nope, Trump never even pulled it out."
