Denial, conspiracy and double-speak: Trump-loving OAN and Newsmax’s bizarre coverage of Biden’s inauguration (msn.com)

A mundane article from the Independent. Nothing shocking. OAN and Newsmax are the definition of "bizarre." Just what we'd expect from whacky conspiracy peddlers.

This part is funny, though. Newsmax got punked.

And, like all networks, there was a never-ending panel of experts.

Betsy McCaughey, former lieutenant-governor of New York turned Trump economic advisor, credited him with “driving the terrorists out of the Middle East” and inventing the Covid vaccine.

Another guest was Mark Halperin, ex-political director of ABC News who was fired in 2017 following multiple sexual assault allegations.

He called Mr Trump a “tremendous personality” and said that the media “forced him into bad luck”.

Doug Wead, former adviser to President George HW Bush, added: “He’s got a great legacy, peace and prosperity, and they are spitting mad.”

But then Newsmax ran into a problem.

Mustafa Tameez, a former George HW Bush advisor, had been booked. He is now a Democratic strategist.

“Let me say it this way, so it’s very easy for everyone to get their heads round,” Mr Tameez said.

“He will be remembered in history as one of the worst presidents in the history of the United States.”

The presenter Mr Finnerty’s eyes froze.

Mr Tameez continued: “[Trump] leaves with the lowest approval rating since we started calculating approval ratings, so does the First Lady.

“We keep talking about President Trump’s accomplishments? People stormed the Capitol building whilst they were trying to certify the ballots. That is not the kind of history that anyone would want.”

Mr Finnerty moved swiftly to another guest before heading to a commercial break.

When the programme returned, Mr Tameez was no longer on screen.

    Funny.

The display of competence from our new administration today, combined with the bungling buffoonery of pro-Trump alternative news outlets, also today, tells me we have indeed turned a corner.

We're not going back. People aren't stupid.

The transformation from lies, loonacy, and just lousy media such as Newsmax and AON will take a long time to purge from our system.

    Very interesting, CC.

But, not to nitpick, I do have an issue with Mr.Tameez's statement.

“Let me say it this way, so it’s very easy for everyone to get their heads round,” Mr Tameez said.

“He will be remembered in history as one of the worst presidents in the history of the United States.”

    Here is my beef:

Trump Isn't only "one of" the worst presidents...

    Trump is The WORST President.

In terms of Presidential Competency (and being worthy of the respect of the Office):

Trump makes James Buchanan look like George Washington.

    Trump = WORST EVER.

^A View that is Universally-Accepted (and Utterly Inarguble).

    Indeed, AJ.

I reckon Tameez took into account Finnerty’s systolic. Hard to reach the bottle of lisinopril when your eyes freeze. He was being humane.

Trump only served one term and gave a majority in both Houses to the Democrats, but the cult of personality is too strong.

There will never be any questioning of Trumpists.

They are incapable of any self-criticism or compromise, just like Trump.

OAN, Newsmax and War Room speaks to converts whose ideology is rejected by voters.

Their inability to evolve and, above all, to understand why they are rejected will allow a long democratic domination of the Presidency.

Rest assured, we will never be complacent.

Trump was narrowly elected because the Democrats weren't sufficiently mobilized.

With the 4 years we have just lived, I can guarantee you that the Liberals have learned what it costs to stay home on the night of the vote.

    Exactly.

All of the Jill Stein Voters (and "Disgruntled Bernie People" who thought that they were "making a statement" by "sitting it out") in places like MI, WI, and PA--Literally handed Trump the Election.(4 Years Ago).

They ALL got on the same page this time.
    To Defeat "Trumpism".

In fact, anybody who is currently over the Age of 50 will (most likely) never see another Republican Elected President.

As long as the Democrats are UNITED, they will be (virtually) impossible to defeat in a Presidential Election.

I can't wait until morons get the one party rule they clamor for, by the time the boot is on their neck, it will be too late to change gears.

So you are saying that a dumb president was elected because Democrat voters were dumber. I don't agree.

Trump was voted in because Democrats voted to run a miserable excuse for a human. No one really liked her and she didn't enthuse anyone. Biden was the same but Dems had a reason to vote the second time. They didn't really want Biden but rather a severe hatred that drove a passion against Trump.

Those who say that Trump is the worst clearly didn't live through Jimmy Carter nor have you read any real history. I would suggest James Buchanan was the worst simply because he pretty much put out the red carpet for the Civil War. I'm not sure how you could argue that Trump has been worse than that but then you guys do think he's as bad, or worse, than Hitler. Buchanan had a lot in common with Biden as a racist Democrat Senator.

If I were to compare Trump to anyone in making your argument, I would pick Hoover. Hoover terribly mismanaged the Great Depression. He believed in a hands off approach to the economy much like Trumps hands off approach to the virus. Both did a lot of great things but have been overshadowed by their mistakes. Both had to fight with protesters and both had an unwilling partner in Congress to make any significant progress.

Explain for us this "display of competence". Pres Biden spent most of the day watching a ceremony, reading the verbose pontifications of a speech writing team that turned pander up to 11, and then got his photo taken signing Day 1 EO's that were prepared for him not by him. Exactly what Pres Trump, Pres Biden, Pres Bush, Pres Clinton, and so on and so back did on inauguration day. So tell us how this canned melodrama displayed anything other than a routine we've seen before.

And I just have to take issue with this last part, just cant let it go. You say people aren't stupid, I think we can all read between the lines on that one, but then if people [who voted for Biden, your obvious meaning] aren't stupid then how come I can still go to any left wing web hangout and find people committed to the 'good people on both sides' myth? I picked this one thing because of a) how simple it was to disprove, and b) because of how prolific it is amongst these people who "aren't stupid".

The answer to that Question is mind-numbingly obvious.

"left-wing web hangouts" are Totally Unrepresentative of 90% of the Democratic Party.

    It'll be up to Republicans.

Probably so, but the propaganda machine will convince others he/she is the love child of Satan/Hitler.

If Joe is any indication, the bar will be very low.

As always, the pendulum will swing. It's a constant in politics. One party rule is the recipe for a dictatorship.

    Oh.

So, in your opinion, there is an equal.amounnt of people (Among Democrats, Republicans, and Independents) who "think one party rule is a good idea"?

And, in your opinion, that group.mentioned above (that is comprised of Dems, Repubs, and Ind.), deserves to be referred to as morons", if they "think one party rule is a good idea"?

Thx for the clarification. Got it.

For a minute, it looked like a Group Insult (aimed at people you disagree with).

Once again, thx for clearing that up.:salute:

No, dont try putting your misguided words in my mouth. I said no such thing. See if you can get a refund on your numerous strawmen. BTW, Kammy is a hoe.

It takes a real fool to think one party rule is remotely a good idea. A blind, partisan fool.

I watched a compilation clip of how many times Trump was discussed today...

You'd have forgotten Biden was being inaugurated.

Get ready for the media to shuffle their lineups in a desperate attempt to attract viewers.

Trump leaving office is the death nail for left wing television media. Righties don't watch them and leftists only watched them because they were that obsessed with Trump.

    "Forced into bad luck"
LOL!! Only the far right could come up with that.
But it's typical that the far right would outright cancel and censor a person expressing the truth!

Trump said he wants to create a 3rd party, if that happens, Republicans will not win for a long time as that would split their vote

It is. You know it is.

It's not just starting now; nobody watches CNN anymore. Tim's Tool Time reruns pull in more viewers than the lefts prime news channels. Lol
