I got a really cool word for you that tends to back up the idea that indeed.....
back in 1974 P. M. Pierre E. Trudeau may well have deliberately set in motion a dampening of
the economy of Canada..... which set the stage for a similar dampening of the
economy of the USA.... which of course would have tended to slow down the
entire world economy and the key word is Neo - Malthusianism.

For the record I am NOT saying that I like this idea because one of
the results of deliberately slowing down the economy is to put pressure
on women..... .especially less wealthy women... .to choose to have abortions.

Here are the statistics for deaths among African Americans since 1973:

Here are the statistics for deaths among African Americans since 1973:
I believe that this was set up.......
and something happened here in Canada back in 1974 that made this trend possible in the USA.

Here is one of the major reasons why Canadian women feel pressured into having an abortion. They feel that our economic situation leaves them with really no choice other than to take the risk of living in relative poverty along with their child. This situation has been forced on them and we need to be more well informed about this.

After P. M. Pierre E. Trudeau's colossal error here is how the national debt of
    Canada spiralled out of control:

My guess is that he was pressured into doing this so that the same thing could be
    arranged in the USA:

Many wealthy people believe that the only way to keep the lower class working
hard is to keep them head over heels in debt and kind of hungry. Lower class people choosing to have an abortion is a positive thing in the minds of a lot of people who consider themselves to be the ELITE!

    The Public-Debt Problem

Here is how I explained this back in 2006 when I campaigned for the office of M. L. A. as an independent:

From 1940 to 1974 the Government of Canada put roughly half of the total money supply into the economy through loans issued through the federally owned Bank of Canada. Provincial and municipal governments could borrow the money to build roads, schools, hospitals and sewage treatment facilities at zero or one percent interest. In 1974 we changed our system and since that time a higher and higher percentage of all government debt is financed through loans issued through privately owned banks. At this time it is ninety eight percent. This policy may be great for our banking sector but it was estimated that in the one year of 1995 alone our federal government could have saved roughly SIXTY FIVE BILLION DOLLARS in interest payments if we had gone back to creating half the total money supply through these low interest rate loans issued through the bank that is OWNED BY ALL CANADIANS.

Considering that our deficit was approximately thirty billion dollars for that year, simply by changing back to an already proven monetary and banking system, we could theoretically have had a FEDERAL BUDGET SURPLUS OF THIRTY FIVE BILLION DOLLARS in 1995.

The massive cutbacks in the Canadian military, in health care, highway construction, social programs and education were profoundly affected by these accounting practices?

So what can you and I do about this problem?

My 2006, 2008, 2016 and 2004 campaign writings as ART.

Here is an article by three economists that tends to back up this idea:

I admit that I could be wrong....
and I admit that this is a strange idea.....
but I was actually being largely serious when I began this discussion over in the
    Humor and Satire forum.

I plead guilty......... I take the evidence from parapsychology rather seriously that
maybe.... just maybe... .there could be an alternate universe out there in which
the USA was about twenty percent covered by the oceans by January 1, 2013 but.......

... in our time line something happened to prevent that from occurring.........
was it the seeming error by then Prime Minister Pierre E. Trudeau back in 1974?????????

In alternate time line Mr. Gore wins the 2000 election but negates Global Dimming....

Correction on the wording to the poll question:

"I suppose it would suppose on how the economy is slowed..."

    should have read:

"I suppose it would depend on how the economy is slowed..."

And on that note........ I feel that P. M. Justin Trudeau deserves credit for being quite good
in a town hall type of atmosphere. I think it is fair to say that he is somewhere in the top one
percent of the population for his ability to interact with large groups of Canadians. Sometimes he
    really messes up...........
but I would have my work cut out for me if I attempted to rival him............. and I just might?

One of the neat things about being a janitor at a school......
as opposed to being the Prime Minister of Canada is that
people have lower expectations of how competently I need to write and / or speak!

Canada's Worst Politician.... the film series concept!

Yes, slowing down the economy is more environmentally friendly, but I don't think we should be uncomfortable while being green.

True......... It isn't very often that I decide that I have got to write an e-mail to the President of the USA and
copy and paste it to many USA and Canadian officials as well.............
but I did this a few months ago because it seems to me that we are in
an incredibly serious situation in July of 2019.

    @DennisTate

Rededicating the economy is the solution.
    Not slowing it down.

I am against "electric" because of the effect on the environment to produce that electricity.

I am Pro Hydrogen and Fuel Cell power production.
    Hydrogen is available via solar.
My only request is the harmless H2O by product get condensed to liquid water
and not released as a Green House Gas.

Thus spaketh Moi The Wise :oldman:

BTW I do believe China is an example of rededicating an economy today.
Certainly better than France's  for Nuc Power in the later part of the 20th Century.

Meanwhile :flagcanada: hoards the secret of Ice Power!

    Of Course.
    :flagcanada: FREEDOM was, FREE.
AND Security courtesy of the :flagus: taxpayer.

    Restore provincial autonomy and FREEDOMS.
End the Dominion of Ottawa Bankers and pacifying les Quebecois
    at everyone's expense.

Dissolve the Union of Provinces and let them go their own way.

    no_canada.jpg
Some may wish to federate with a few others,
but how many would prefer today's
    Union of Provinces?

I hope to witness a province withdrawing from the union
as we witnessed USSR Republics pulling out.

Did you know that there is at least some indicators that William Wallace might perhaps have been the reincarnation of King David... but sent to the Zeraite Jews who had migrated to Scotland after the Throne of David had been taken by the descendants of their twin brother Pharez????

If so.. .then Psalms 22 might be a prediction of what my English ancestors would do to him in the last three days of his life?!

Orthodox Jewish scholar Yair Davidiy writes quite a bit on this...... but you may be most interested in this article:
