Did Russia want Trump to win?

The first DNC excuse just mentioned being hacked to take the focus off of their own corrupt behavior.

And then the Clinton campaign, right after their defeat, enhanced the story to include Trump campaign collusion with the Russians.

Again, to take the focus off of their own failures, corruption and humiliating defeat.

Now, if this ploy were coordinated with the White House and aided by the intelligence community, we should see the DOJ start to initiate some grand jury involvement.

 

That is one of the more idiotic notions floated in the right wing talk radio sewer. It doesn't even make sense.

Trump is far more vulnerable to blackmail.

He's the one who did regular business with Russian gangsters, and who is going to great lengths to try and conceal that fact.

You can not blackmail someone who doesnot care what people think. Based on that, Trump is bulletproof. As far as him selling homes to Russian "gangsters" (more accurate is to call them Oligarchs) the fair housing laws require him to sell to anyone with the means to buy.

 

Only DNC E-mails were released because the attempts to hack the RNC were unsuccessful. The Russians did get into some local and state Republican systems, but didn't find much.

 

If you're just looking for an argument why Russia would like Trump to win the election it will be easy to answer that.


Regardless whether you want to argue his competence or lack thereoff, it has been no secret that Trump has promised a more isolationist course. On top of that, he marked China as unfriendly and said he would be willing to let NATO fall; something Russia would be looking forward too. For similar reasons, he wants the French to step out of NATO and possibly out of the EU as well. the more division there is between European nations and the US, the easier it will be for Russia to find new friends or to move unopposed if they were to add more former Soviet territory to their current land. The Baltic States for example really fear a Russian attempt to re-annex their nations and they believe it mostly has not happened yet due to allied military presence and guarantees. There are similarities with the late 1930's where isolationist ideologies enabled agressive regimes which didn't just include Germany and Italy.

Any additional chaos is just a bonus for Putin.

 

Before he was running, Trump had said he avoids E-mail due to concerns with security. He likes face to face, or phone conversations.

 

Yeah. That's complete bullshit. If a group of government-sponsored technical operatives wants to break into a server, they will. There is nothing that could be considered bullet-proof as far as security is concerned.

The only people who believe otherwise are loyal drinkers of the Koolaid and believe pretty much anything they are told by their party masters.

Trump says a LOT of things that aren't true on a continuous basis. At this point, do you actually believe everything he says?

Email isn't exactly state-of-the-art tech; it's been around for decades. It is not just indispensable, it is a necessity in today's life particularly in the realm of business.

For instance, one of the requirements for signing up on Twitter is to have an active email address.

 

Avoid is not the same as does not use.

 

The Russians did not use their best on this. Did you see the joke of a fishing E-mail they used against Podesta? Very amateurish. Both the RNC head and FBI confirmed the unsuccessful attempt against the RNC.
