I didn't watch the Academy Awards. Nearly anything else imaginable would have been a better use of my time... and it was! I'm so old that I can remember when Hollywood regularly offered enjoyable, imaginative, tasteful entertainment.
I voted no. However I didn't realize they were on but was channel surfing and there they were so stopped just to see. They were doing screen writers and watch the intro's it was about the movies and the art and a little quip about each nominee and their art and writing and then the award, will someone tell the Europeans we don't need your entire biography and names of every family member in your acceptance speech, and thinking did they tell the presenter, don't know her name, and the winners to keep the politics out here and then out came Laura Dern and she made it through an award with just the movie and the art and then came to another one and started with the equality an injustice and I continued my channel surfing. Heard later it got overbearing again.... Oscar Ratings Crater, Hit Another Record Low .... After last year’s rock-bottom viewership hit 23.6 million and the top award went to a Korean film, Parasite, the average person hadn’t even heard of, this year’s Oscars went full woke. You never go full woke . . . Ratings crashed 58 percent off last year’s abysmal viewership, down to 9.85 million Americans. Let that sink in: In a nation of 330 million, not even ten million Americans watched the Oscars. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ strategy of embracing diversity as a supposed means to bring in younger viewers has proven a complete failure: Ratings were down even more for young adults. In the 18–49 demographic, ratings crashed 64 percent. The star power is gone. The glamour is gone. This poll is producing even worse results for the popularity of the "Academy Awards" than I'd anticipated.... It's been announced that "Big Guy" Joe is going to 'address' Congress tonight at 9PM EDT. Maybe after that's over with, I'll post a new poll asking how many people watched it. Me? I think I'll just have to watch it -- at least long enough to see just how much 'woke'-Democrat, self-adoring bullshit piles up before my gag-reflex gets triggered....
