Yes, I think those were some of the extremists that the Sauds took on. The Sauds don't like the Brotherhood as they see them as competition and because they believe in democracy.

The British Enquiry though clearly set up to find the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organisation could not do that. They did suggest that some offshoots were but not the Brotherhood itself.

Yes, I think though it is important to make clear that the Muslim Brotherhood itself is not a terrorist organisation.

MB is based on teachings of al Banna and Sayiid Qutb.. They are anti-western... OBL was bedazzled by the MB

KSA didn't take on any "extremists".. They gave sanctuary to Egyptian professors who promised not to teach MB ideas. They did, so they were expelled.

They changed after the crackdown on them in Egypt. Saudi Arabia took in the ones who believed in violence. The Muslim Brotherhood decided strongly against it and for democracy.

There is no teaching of the West. ;) Qutb saw the West re America as giving up much of what is human in the way it was living. Indeed I would say that there is an argument that in that he was right and that Marx was also right talking about human alienation from itself through the way the money system worked. I do not think that alienation from our essential selves has ever stopped and I think it would be true to say it has become very much worse since the advent of neo liberalism when all idealism ended in the West and whether something was profitable, what made the most money or rather money was the one question. We have possibly got to the very worst at the moment where the President of the most powerful country in the world feels free to tell bald faced lies and his minions also believe that is fine - losing all integrity from the West.

difference of opinion. ;) I seem to remember however KSA's problem with them was that they did not see them as rulers of the Islamic world with the Saudi Family in charge. I understand though that supporting Freedom of thought and Speech is not a Saudi strength. Of course if they were extremists there might be reason for this. If not, nothing to boast of.

Heh. The Brotherhood believes in Islamism, not democracy.

The Saudis don't like them because they are both competing for power and legitimacy within the Sunni Muslim world. Democracy has nothing to do with it. Democracy is a secular Western innovation.

It is important to point out that the Muslim Brotherhood is the patriarch of modern Sunni Islamism and jihadism. Setting aside its own history of terrorism and violence, the Brothers inspired, formed and joined the ranks of numerous Sunni jihadist groups.

:above: This Muslim Brother, Sayyid Qutb, is one of the foremost ideologues of the contemporary jihadist movement and his most famous work, Ma'alim fi al-Tariq (Milestones), is one of the most influential tracts promoting Islamism and jihadism ever written.

In many respects the Brothers could be considered the Islamist version of the Ku Klux Klan. Both are retrogressive supremacist groups that have a long, sordid and comparable history of fomenting hate, bigotry and violence.

    Trump Tower was 'under surveillance'.

You don't know yet what happened because the investigations have not been completed, thus the 'lies' you claim occurred are just silly.

Watch for Mike Rogers and the date Trump moved from Trump Tower to the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. Then the true story will begin to unfold.

He said his wires were tapped. Totally and completely untrue. FBI and DOJ confirm that it simply didn't happen.

I don't know what you mean about a building being "under surveillance". What, the whole building? That's just laughable.

    His lies are corrosive. Anti-American.

    From Mark Steyn:
"A few decades back, a young middle-class Egyptian spending some time in the US had the misfortune to be invited to a dance one weekend and was horrified at what he witnessed:

The room convulsed with the feverish music from the gramophone. Dancing naked legs filled the hall, arms draped around the waists, chests met chests, lips met lips . . .

Where was this den of debauchery? Studio 54 in the 1970s? Haight-Ashbury in the summer of love? No, the throbbing pulsating sewer of sin was Greeley, Colorado, in 1949. As it happens, Greeley, Colorado, in 1949 was a dry town. The dance was a church social. And the feverish music was "Baby, It's Cold Outside," as introduced by Esther Williams in "Neptune's Daughter." Revolted by the experience, Sayyid Qutb decided that America (and modernity in general) was an abomination, returned to Egypt, became the leading intellectual muscle in the Muslim Brotherhood, and set off a chain that led from Qutb to Zawahiri to bin Laden to the Hindu Kush to the Balkans to 9/11 to the brief Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Egypt to the Islamic State marching across Syria and Iraq. Indeed, Qutb's view of the West is the merest extension of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" — America as the ultimate seducer, the Great Satan.

I'm a reasonable chap, and I'd be willing to meet the Muslim Brotherhood chaps halfway on a lot of the peripheral stuff like beheadings, stonings, clitoridectomies and whatnot. But you'll have to pry "Baby, It's Cold Outside" from my cold dead hands and my dancing naked legs. A world without "Baby, It's Cold Outside" would be very cold indeed"

Yes, he said the wires were tapped, an old expression, but later corrected that to being surveiled. As explained in the previous post, you should wait until the investigations are complete before making any judgments. Perhaps you don't know the actions of the FBI and CIA at the time.

I HATE puritanism. I think this viewpoint. that what every biologist says is really the ONLY function of living beings is the greatest evil among humanity, is very probably the reason why we lived in caves for the first several hundred thousand milenia of our existence as intelligent beings, and make no mistake, it is far from being limited entirely to Islam.

Given with Trump and his supporters a case can now be made that our so call great experiment,in self government, is coming to an end in complete failure, I would suggest we ask the mother country to take us back under their wings once more.

    Must better then the UN.

I have no problem with "die like a dog" I've used this term in the past myself... it was more specifically "die like a dog by dusk"

My ancestor shot those lobsterbacks down like dogs at both Bennington and Bunker Hill. Don't tell me I have no clue about history. I am an American Nationalist. I have no "mother country" to suck up to. Why would I suck up to the UN? England now is sucking up to the EU.
Before you try and lecture me about history...... please diagram this sentence for me then we'll discuss a little English.

LOL England was indeed the mother country and most of our founders before becoming annoyed over the Empire trying to get them to paid their fair share of the French/Indians war costs, consider themselves Englishmen.

Their complain was that they was not being given the respect and the rights of being Englishmen.

So most of our society was model after the culture of England with a side trip back to the early Rome Republic by way of the writings of Edward Gibbon who books was a must read by the elite of that era.

Bet you had never read a history book outside a HS history class in your life.

That is a bet you most definitely would lose given the library I have accumulated over many years. My family was Scottish Irish and German. The majority were here prior to 1776. England had a state sponsored religion. What do you have to say about that? Many came to be freed from her shackles. Taxation without representation.....another issue. Forcing citizens to house military.....another issue. Aside from all that, we owe no allegiance to England who pledges her allegiance to the EU. If you want to call her a mother country, that is fine with me. Fighting wars to keep land is part of the costs of "Empire".
If you read the accounts of General John Stark, my g-g-g-g-g- grandfather, you would understand the sentiment of an American citizen of Scottish dissent and his feelings toward England as a "mother country". He was instrumental in the fight at Breeds Hill and the victory at Bennington. He earned his reputation in the French and Indian War. His family and his reputation was always abused by the English and those of English dissent. He would not submit to the Continental Army but he was such an effective fighter, they could not do without him.
Hey Bill....how're you coming with your sentence diagrams? If you'd like, I could proof read your posts. I colored in words on the above post that it seems you are having trouble with. Reading books would help you with that.

All the complains you and the founders had listed did not mean that they would not had been happy to reach an agreement to remain in the Empire it given the chance to do so fairly late in the process.

Second I do not know if your books cover the subject but the Boston tea party was over the Brits dumping low tax tea repeat low tax tea on the America market therefore harming the American smugglers with their warehouses full of smuggle tea by undercutting their prices.

Second note Franklin and others offer to paid for the tea that was dumped into the sea but the English government was annoyed to the point that they would not allow the port of Boston to reopen until the citizens of Boston themselves would paid for the tea.

I don't really care about the Boston Tea Party. I'm more concerned with Lexington. Many Historians agree that prior to that, there were more Tories than Patriots. (kind of like there are more registered Democrats than Republicans) Gradually the abuse of the "mother country" like burning churches and civilians changed all that. We are seeing abuses committed today by un elected bureaucrats in the CIA, FBI and the previous State Department.

I am so grateful we separated from the empire who presently sold out to the EU. Like the origination of this discussion, many wish we would sell out to the U'N. Globalists for decades have desired a weaker American economy to make us more ripe for the picking so we too will sell out to a larger entity. The goal is control and a concentration of power. That is the opposite of our United States and our local governments.

    Burning churches??????????

footnote one of the ways the Empire kept Canada from joining us was to grant complete or almost complete religion freedom to the French Canadian Catholic.

When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1989, the US was the world's only super power.

Because of the stupidity of our diplomats and leaders, our dominance has been squandered and we face just as many threats as before..
