Mr. Berkowitz makes good points.......... I believe that it was Dr. Melvin Morse who stated in "Transformed by The Light" that there was a group of people who had attempted suicide in the past who were studied. One group was simply given near death experience accounts to read. Zero people from that group attempted suicide again during the duration of the study. Drug abuse and shooting people for no reason is at least somewhat connected to suicidal thought and behaviour patterns.

do something with past life regression under hypnosis might be

If a control group of twenty or thirty convicted Palestinian terrorists
were to volunteer to be regressed in time under hypnosis by a
qualified hypnotherapist....... in order to see if they had ever been
a Jewish Rabbi or Patriarch in one of their past lives..........
