Merkel says German multiculturalism has failed

POTSDAM, Germany (Reuters) - Germany’s attempt to create a multicultural society has “utterly failed,” Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Saturday, adding fuel to a debate over immigration and Islam polarizing her conservative camp.

Speaking to a meeting of young members of her Christian Democrats (CDU), Merkel said allowing people of different cultural backgrounds to live side by side without integrating had not worked in a country that is home to some four million Muslims.

“This (multicultural) approach has failed, utterly failed,” Merkel told the meeting in Potsdam, south of Berlin.

An official who recommended the FBI investigate was told an interview was “politically sensitive.”​

ethnic diversity is good for society, excessive immigration above the limit a society can absorb is bad for society

it would be like saying the sun is bad for humans cause people that get too much of it burn

heck it doesn't even have to be foreign immigrants, if a town has to evacuate, and they all go to the same location, that other location will suffer as it's too many people in too short a time frame

 

religious fanatics are a tough one I admit, be they Christian or Muslim... at what point do you consider them a threat - how many white mass shooters should have been caught before their mass shootings..

Ethnic disdain and even hatred is nothing new, its been a part of USA since Europeans started migrating here.
Its been going on since the 1600s, some french, dutch, swiss, but the bigger european migration came with germans then scotch/irish and thats when the ethic competition for jobs and disdain and dislike for different cultures and neighborhoods formed that were ethnic enclaves, then came the italians, each ethnic group had their criminal element that fought each other etc.

Today is not much different, except there are more coming here illegally than legally but heres the big one, TODAY they dont want to assimilate they want to make this country the way they want it and they want americans to conform

 

genetic diversity among species is always good, it helps the species survive long term

kinda why incest is bad, long term it will not turn out well the less genetic diversity a society has

what is not good is when the races separate into groups and go to war with each other and try to commit genocide on the other

 

In the short term it is bad. The society loses cohesion.

And it is also not good if the races are mixed and internal tensions lead to social breakdown or even civil war.
