I have doubts that souls exist at all, but if souls exist, I would imagine any animal with consciousness would have it.
What is a soul anyways? As far as I am concerned there is no scientific proof that such a thing exists. It is only a religious concept so the answer to the question is most likely no, animals do not have souls and neither do human beings. Does bacteria have souls? Ants, bumblebees and other bugs? God putting a soul into each and every living creature there is seems rather unsustainable imo. If soul is some semi-buddhistic thingy being synonymous to "consciousness", i guess even plants have souls but as an agnostic I do not believe in the concept of soul.
the life force is the force of all life, without it there is no life, so if the life force leaves a body, it dies, regardless if human or animal
Or... is there some sort of higher dimensional hard drive within us that is kind of like a remote memory bank or database that we can access while alive..... but when we die perhaps this hard drive goes into a higher energetic dimension? www.CarbonBias.blogspot.ca/
^^^ This. I agree with this post 100%. I guess your "soul" is your personality, your being, your energy, to look at it in a nonreligious sense.
