There should be no ability to "be a leech" (your words). If one wants to buy insurance, then one ought to be able to do so. If one does't wish to, then one should also have that option. I don't consider myself to be the ruler of my neighbor. She can do what she wants.

Your avoidance of answering my question is duly noted. Have a nice day!

Hahaha...clearly you have health insurance but can't admit it as you'll look foolish. Too late.

Ah, more comments about me personally? Wow, is this what statists have been reduced to? They don't even offer arguments anymore? They just make personal attacks?

    Have a nice statism!

As much of a free marketeer as I am, I can't support your view on this. And a large number of people have been provided medical care that they couldn't afford at the time and later paid it off, including our own spiritgide. So no, I don't think so.

    Okay, I'll help you out:

Pathway #1: Yes, I have health insurance.

Pathway #2: No, I don't have health insurance.

Feel free to pursue whichever path you desire.

It sounds like you're saying that you have a responsibility to provide me (or any other person) healthcare. Is this what you're proposing?

The right believes that you are on your own. The left believes that we are all in it together.
Cain was the first right-winger when he told God, "I am not my brother's keeper."
Jesus was the quintessential left-winger when he said, "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least important, you did for me."
    Which side are you on?

Kind of hard to offer an argument when you run away from answering a simple straightforward question. I tried to move the discussion forward but you refuse to do the same. And I find it ironic you're complaining about "personal attacks".

I'm on the side that doesn't point guns at people and tell them that they have to pay for other people's health care. I'm on the side of peaceful, voluntary cooperation.

Why is it hard for you to answer my direct question with a direct answer? Why can't you admit that you have health insurance?

Ah, you need an answer. Let me see...(flipping a coin...). No, I don't have health insurance. Okay, so now what? Let's see what path #2 leads to...

So I'm paying for you when you seek services and can't pay for them. Go figure.

BTW....I don't want govt in control of our healthcare system. So....yet again you're wrong in your assumptions. Hahahahahahaha

Great. So we agree that the government should not mandate that hospitals treat those who cannot pay for the service.

No, we don't agree on that part. I, unlike you, don't think we should leave people lying on the street to die.

I don't want a govt run single payer healthcare system

I don't think we should leave people lying on the street to die. I'm not sure why you assumed that I do.

However, I don't agree with you that those people that call themselves the state have any right to tell you that you have to provide medical care to your neighbor. Of course you may certainly provide such care because you wish to, but nobody has a right to enslave you and force you to do so.

So, in one breath you say you don't want hospitals to have to treat people who can't pay but then you say you're ok with hospitals treating people who can't pay. How about you get your story straight and then we'll talk, ok?

Yep. I have no right to force people to provide healthcare.
Yep, people are free to provide whatever healthcare they wish. I have no right to stop them from doing so.

Are you seeing the principle here?

Sounds like you have some family issues which you've unjustifiably transplanted onto innocent political opponents.

Yes...I see that you wish for us to pay for your healthcare. That's some principle you have.

Ah, more assumptions. Let me set you straight: I don't agree that those people who call themselves the state have any right to force you to pay for my healthcare.

Why can't statists form any sort of coherent, principle-based argument?????

But you agreed we shouldn't let people die on the side of the road, correct? So if hospitals are going to give emergent treatment to those who can't pay for said treatment then who ultimately do you think is going to pay for it? Hospitals can't affords to eat all those costs. So it get passed on to those of us (not you of course) who have health insurance. BTW...you're welcome for picking up your tab.
