~ Yes. For the most part I do. The moderators seem fairly balanced.

 

Never had any problems with the moderators. Had a couple posts deleted that I don’t think should have been, but none that I felt were really arguing the topic of a thread. I would say some posters get away with more than others though.

 

Yes, pretty good. The mods are excellent btw.

 

There's a good balance of left, right and center here. I left another forum before coming here which was all center-left and far-left because any and all conservatives were censored/edited/deleted and often banned for expressing any other points of view.

It was good to find this site which allows a lot more diversity of opinions. I try, with varying levels of success, to avoid getting dragged into any nonsense playground-level mud slinging battles so most limitations are self-imposed.

I've had only a couple posts deleted during my fairly long stay here. Though I dont think they warranted for deletion I do know I was angry when I wrote them so the mods were probably in line.

 

Same here. Only ever had one post deleted. (I called another poster 'immature'.) So far this thread looks looks like being a 'thumbs' up for the moderators. Pats on the backs all around.

Yes, I am sincerely grateful to the people who devote their time to keeping this forum running and just as grateful for America's 1st Amendment that allows most of us to express our views openly and fully.

During my travels, I remember the words of an older woman in a Communist country who said:

"You Americans don't appreciate your freedoms enough and will slowly lose them, one by one."

Let's not prove her right.

 

One of the most REWARDING experiences in this forum is a meeting of the minds from opposite sides of the political aisle.

That it is possible says volumes about the quality of the moderation on this forum.

Yes. Definitely...have no complaints what-so-ever.

I've had some of my posts censored/deleted by moderators.

But every single time it was not about the type of issue I would have expected to be censored, strangely.

All the typical most controversial stuff, has never been censored.

And any "censorship" on this forum is very far from being consistent, so you can usually present your ideas or thoughts. So yes, you can get your voice to be heard. Although it is usually downed out by other discussions, or posted in some obscure section of the forum no one ever seems to read.

 

This forum definitely does not allow me to express how I feel. This is not a slam against this board because it is an inherent feature when you start a board. The administrators and moderators are subject to their own prejudices. In the instant case, the moderators here say you cannot call people names. But, you have some people who are more adept at calling you names, lying about and making false assumptions than others.They know those acceptable subtleties. When I answer them in the same spirit that they address me, my posts are deleted. I report theirs and no action is taken. It's a common bias on virtually all boards.

The worst part of having your posts deleted is that you have no idea what it is you said, specifically, and no chance to talk about it with mods. They could modify your posts and explain why and / or allow you to modify your reply to their liking. Selective enforcement / interpretation of rules is wrong, still it is their board. I just don't like censorship, but it is their board and they do what most other boards do. Everybody has their own agenda.

 

It is so much easier to just follow the rules.
