It's not really a 'who should be obligated to do what, and why'. This isn't necesarrily the forum for the political post, but I'm going to tldr it in short form: We are 'obligated' to our countries, that is our home. A country is a larger extent of our physical homes. In so devoting ourselves to the well-being of our countries and neighbors, we protect ourselves as well. As a Fascist-Technocrat, the order in society will secure everyone and bring prosperity to everyone. We humans actually lose the most in a chaotic, unregulated world.

We also lose a lot in a tightly regulated, restrictive world, so there must be a balance. And I believe I've found that balance through a technocratic society with a centralized government at its top.

I have never tried to resolve my political differences. Nor have my friends or family. We just enjoy the rows.

Winston Churchill and Clement Attlee spent a life time insulting each others politics. And every so often the pair of them (neither of whom could bear too much agreement) would meet for dinner where the real problem was that despite building the Welfare State and the socialist Jerusalem in the UK, Clem's true interest was cricket.

Ronald Reagan would joke that after 5 pm (quitting time) he and House Speaker Tip O'Neil would be "friends again".

Although there are some indications that O'Neill took their differences a good deal more seriously, a former O'Neil aide did talk about meetings between Reagan and O'Neil that were supposedly "intense discussions" where the pair would spend most of the time having drinks, telling stories and cracking jokes. When the meeting broke up Reagan and O'Neil would wave at their respective staff members and tell them "See what you can do with this!"

@Sallyally, you liked that cuz I dug on Americans, huh?

I am an American, happy to be so...but your definitions are still right.

Back at the turn of last century folks started playing musical chairs with labels.

I consider myself a liberal, I've been called a "classic liberal", meh. More like a constitutional moderate.

    Such as...

If we actually followed our Constitution, we would be involved in a whole lot less military action!

Oh, and to stay on topic: I have a sister who's like a flamethrower with a faulty valve. Any spark will blow up a room! She's not a bit of fun.

I am a US Citizen since 1991. I do not consider myself an American. Ethnically I am Jewish. I am an Aspie.

Most American Jews are American Patriots. Most Aspies do not fit into Society.
