I responded "Yes", even though I don't have an account with them. After learning that they track, even people without an account; I don't know how I could escape them.
The only real danger is if you are stupid. For example, don't post pictures of yourself on vacation while you are on vacation. Wait until you get back, otherwise you are advertising that your home is ripe for burglary. If there is something that you do not want people to know, why would you post it anyway?
Whoa....that’s not what Facebook is. I like seeing photos of people I know, i love seeing their kids, I like hearing from students I taught years ago..i love hearing from old friends, I prefer texting to wasting time on phones.i don’t think people on Facebook have weak egos...maybe just different perceptions. I just had 15 minutes of fame, when some famous woman talked about me and I’m hearing from people all over the world. ..through Facebook messenger
I have an account under an assumed name that i've utterly forgotten so I have no idea how to find it if it even still exists. I wonder how many "orphans" like that lead impossibly lonely lives drifting aimlessly forever in cyberspace. I talked to one guy who put on a completely bogus person with a completely bogus background, bogus schools etc. He got messages from like 40 people who were his classmates at these schools that never existed
It is sad that a person goes through all that trouble creating all that false information and then lies about dozens of people saying they went to his fictitious high school. Doesn’t commonsense tell you that’s ridiculous? I have a feeling you have no idea about Facebook. What is just as sad, is that you believed it
You want to know what's really sad...? That anybody would waste any time getting 'sucker-punched' by a bunch of data-scammers like the slimebags that run Facebook. The unwitting, unthinking, gullible sheep have made multi-millionaires out of these creeps!
He had no reason to lie. There is only one way to find out if what he said would happen, and I am going to try it. I will report forthwith and post the entry here if I can
But how are they now 'creeps'? How are you being "sucker-punched" They provide a service and you use it, where's the harm? You can always simply abstain and your life would be little different, if at all. I remember when Facebook first came on I went i went to an online lesson this one guy on another board was giving. The teacher said he spent long and happy hours on it daily. I asked him why and his answer was that if I asked I would never understand. I still don't but such is life I suppose
Complete agreement with you, Aleks.... In my long life I've worked with computers, computer software, and information systems in one capacity or another since 1969. From the very beginning I knew better than to have anything to do with "Facef*ck" (as I call it)....
Yeah...the millions are all suckers.....so tell us about your friend who made up a fake school and over 40 people wrote to him...lol
