Considering his most recent words and action and how closely they resemble those of a school aged child lashing out in anger (North Korea, NFL, U.N.......etc...), do you still believe he is a strong leader?
Yes, I recall how leftists thought that the strong words of Ronald Reagan during the Cold War in regards to the Soviet Union were going to ignite WWIII, and yet it never even came close. Words are interesting; you can have the "I despise the U.S.A.!" type of leftist wording of Barack Obama for eight years and things go one way and the "I love and respect the U.S.A.!" words of Donald Trump and the world goes another. But war because of words? For some reason that just doesn't seem to happen. But what does happen is the other day China announced that they WILL begin reigning in their puppet nation of North Korea and even perhaps the NFL will begin losing enough money to begin catering to patriots instead of leftist nation-haters. It's going to be interesting to watch unfold.
The BLOTUS is a grumpy old man watching TV, playing golf and yelling at the neighbors. The only time the term "strong" comes up in his context it is accompanied by the term "aversion".
Guess what, only time will tell. You people on the left keep trying to get Trump removed and you will never accept any success Trump may have in the future because you hate the last election.
Do you have any proof that Obama said, :I despise the USA"? Remember that Trump has raved about a system that is rigged against him for 30 years and vowed revenge on those who didn't bail him out financially during his bankruptcies..
Obama's apology tours are proof enough. So we are going years past for proof of things, then how about Obama attending Rev. Wright's church all those years.
I placed you on ignore before I left last year because of garbage replies along the same lines. Obama spent eight straight years criticizing this nation and effectively apologizing to the world for its very existence and also his entire presidency consisted of an ongoing criticism of majority Whites for the high crime of having been born White. To demand proof of that demonstrates either fundamental dishonesty or a mental disconnect from reality of monumental proportions, and it also wastes the time of actual thinkers. You have now been returned to 'ignore'.
That's your perception.. Only great men can be humble.. Trump is all gloom and doom .. and only he can make America great again. He's an arrogant clown.
I think what Trump does is give voice to what he is thinking in the language of ordinary Americans. Whenever I talk with my wife or my friends about politics, they speak plainly. If they were the president, people would say they don't sound "presidential". Trump doesn't use the language of politicians, hence, he is deemed not to be "presidential". There have been a number of times when I have wished that he would have chosen his words more carefully, and some things he's said that I wished he hadn't said at all. I'm not going to defend everything he says because some of it just isn't very defensible, but I will say that I prefer it over what we would have gotten from Hillary Clinton and her administration. The question of whether or not Trump is a strong leader will have a lot to do with what he gets done in his 4 year term. (I don't know if he'll seek reelection.) As his term draws to a close, we will know how he dealt with North Korea, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, China and Russia. We will know what has been achieved with the Supreme Court, Obamacare, tax reform, the border, trade, and jobs. I think that's when I can answer that question. We'll see.
Just so you know I am not "on the left" but certainly dislike having an incompetent and petulant child as my President.
During the primaries I said and still do on occasion that Trump throws temper tantrums and calls people names like a five year old kid who hasn't been taught manners by his parents. That I considered him more of a fifth grade schoolyard bully with his antics and constant need to attack people who would mutter even one bad thing about him. His need to create feuds with other folks is totally beyond comprehension. At least to me. To be a strong leader in my sense of understanding the term, one either must have the respect of others or has put the fear of god into them so they follow you without question. Two different entirely types to be sure. I don't think Obama, Bill Clinton, Carter were strong leaders, they mostly went along to get along. But I viewed each a competent leaders. Both Bushes and Reagan in my view were strong leaders, each doing what they thought needed to be done and each were able to get others, the people and nations to follow them. Now one can disagree with what they did, but that doesn't take them out of the strong leader category. In my lifetime I would put Truman, Eisenhower, JFK, LBJ also in the strong leader category. Trump so far in my opinion hasn't shown himself to be a strong leader. He hasn't earned the respect of the masses or put the fear of god into anyone. But it's early. Trump doesn't know how to deal with congress and others having never been in the political game. TV reality shows and business yes, but different fields where the type of leadership shown is also different. I think Trump has tried to bully others, most through twitter and that hasn't worked except among his avid supporters who jump up and down with glee. I think the bottom line with me is that I'm not impressed at all with the type of leadership shown by Trump, but I am willing to wait and see what the learning curve teaches him, if he will learn from that curve and use the knowledge gained to better himself. Can he adjust?
And with any luck, we will all live long enough to watch him grow up without flying nukes interrupting our dinner.
Can you name anything that the BLOTUS has "learned" to date since he took office and changed as a result of that "learning"? I certainly can't think of anything although there have been more than enough opportunities for him to do so. If the BLOTUS is incapable of "learning," and that does appear to be the case, then he is incapable of doing the job and needs to be replaced with someone who can. We the People deserve to have a competent leader in the Oval office.
Actually I did and never heard an apology....I actually researched it when you folks tried to spew this years ago. I found it was a talking point initially put forth on a website and made popular on Fox news.
What we do know is whatever was tried with North Korea since the end of the Korean War hasn't worked. Trading insults and calling each other names isn't going to work either. The key has always been China when it comes to North Korea.
We probably would have if the Democrats had nominated one. When one party nominates someone disliked and not wanted to become the next president by approximately 60% of America, the other should follow suit and nominate someone who is just as disliked and unwanted by Americas as the other party's nominee. Doing things like that leads to exactly what we have. So now we live with the results, the consequences and ramifications of decisions and choices made last year.
