And I do not mean is athe fake patriotism, thank them for fighting to stop the evil muslims from stealing all of out precious freedom way.... I mean do you really support them..... Are you willing to pay higher taxes in order to allow soldiers to get paid enough to support their familes? Are you willing to pay extra for the proper weapons and armor that soldiers do not have? http://http://www.buffalonews.com/city/capital-connection/washington/article527250.ece How about paying for better armor for vehicles? Most americans are not.....They will gladly shake a soldier's hand and smile and thank them, but when it comes to supporting them when and where it matters, they don't give a (*)(*)(*)(*)..... Soldiers are (*)(*)(*)(*)ed on deployments, pension, and other things....And many soldiers are not even given the financial support they are promised after getting wounded. My neighbor lost his leg and an arm in Afganistan and was supposed to get a an early pension and financial aid to help him, since he can't work. But the army simplt discharged him, sent him home, and cut his benefits to barely 100 a week. That is less than unemployment and he is expected to provide for a family of 5 on it. His wife only makes 30 thousands a year....So they barely get by. That is the type of graditude soldiers are met with when they get hurt of sick.......
In a cost-benefit sense, why would anyone support them? Think of the jobs that could be created with the dosh you spend on them.
too be honest they signed up for it! don't expect too much sympathy just because you lost you leg protecting freedom. no one points a gun to your head when you sign the dotted line. I do agree uncle sam doesn't care about its soldiers, so don't help uncle sam out when he needs more recruits! I was in the army myself for a couple years, I could see the writing on the wall. When they asked me to re-enlist I laughed my way on outta there!
How about don't over extend, stop hiring mercs, and make no bid contracts illegal. http://news.antiwar.com/2011/08/29/pentagon-practice-of-no-bid-contracts-for-defense-has-tripled/ http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/12/04/AR2006120401311.html
Support them by getting them the hell out of the desert. Guess who receives the most funds from individuals in the military? Ron Paul. Barack, another failure.
they need to bring Cheney to justice for that this is a corporate war they pay the military contractor soldiers (over $100k a year at least) more than real troop men its not fair. the republicans did not support the troops from the time they sent them out there imo.
I believe that every single U.S. soldier should be transported back to America NOW, that every foreign U.S. military base should close NOW, that all American military aid to other countries should end NOW and the U.S. military budget should be cut in at least 1/2 NOW. As for proper armour and pay for troops on the ground now? Give it to them by taking money from other parts of the budget...but under no circumstances should more money be allocated. There is absolutely no reason why the troops cannot have all that they need within the confines of the gigantic budget the military now enjoys. And if that means mothballing a carrier or two...so be it.
They won't bring cheney to justice you know that, Obama already pardoned him and i doubt anyother presidential candidate would be willing to do so either.
I'm anti military and you know aswell as i do the majority is often slow to respond to reality in war exporters of the west.
More nonsensical rhetoric from, I assume, a Bush supporter who has yet to figure out why the US has lost. Or even, probably, that it has.
Are you suggesting that a U.S. trooper would pull the trigger and murder and unarmed civilian strictly for exercising their right to free speech? Which is in the Constitution? Which the trooper is sworn to uphold. Interesting position you are taking there GiveUsLibertyin2012.
Yeah, I'm good with paying taxes that equip soldiers. And I don't think that their support, or their deployment, should be determined by free market forces.
