Wow. I didn't know this was a "thing".
Its a sad thing. But I do use some herbs and native plants, that work as well as some pharmaceuticals, that I learned about when I was kid. So...
Whatever works. If you can't afford or access mainstream health care, you do what you can

I've yet to ever pay specifically for a prescription. But the visit to the doctor to get them to write it costs around $100 if ur paying cash.

A 100mL of injectible livestock grade penicilin is $10 at a farming supply store.

Many can be exempt in the UK but if you have to pay, £0 to the doctor and £9 per item on the prescription.

Under 18 and pensioners are exempt. Those on less than £15,000 ish per year are usually exempt as well.

When my lads helped me, I paid them, then they got into part time works in shops and hotels. They grumbled about how little they were on but they had some £600 wage each per month. But I explained to them; you have no mortgage, no council tax, no het light power, no broadband, no house insurances, no vehicles to run, no maintenance of the house to pay for, no kids to pay for. So if you take all that off your wage, in these economic times, you getting £600 per month is probably more disposable income then most families in the city have. And on top of that, the adults don't get the concessions and usually pay the prescriptions.

They said, "Ah, I see, I'm well off".

Evidently, now this a known thing, watch big pharma move to remove it, from average Joe. Mark these words, just a matter of time...

Depends on the drug and your health insurance plan. Locally, a grocery store chain offers a handful of prescription drugs for free with prescription (common blood pressure drugs, statins and antibiotics).

First I have heard of it but it makes sense, same drugs. Pennies on the dollar.

Anyone dosing them selves, damn well better know what they are doing.

Actually I am guilty of buying two point two pound containers of MSM because it is actually the most pure version of it available anywhere. The stuff from Walmart is fairly cheap but... has a lot of aluminum in it whereas the MSM from the animal feed store is perfectly organic.

    www.msm-info.com/
Also the version of MSM from the local animal feed store is powered which saves me a lot of time in grinding it up so that I can mix it in water or orange juice or something to get past the pretty bad taste of the stuff.

I've been using MSM for nineteen years and every word that Stanley Jacob M. D. wrote about it is true.

Yes..... but I have only used MSM myself.

My wife is now taking pretty high levels of it daily as well but she prefers the capsule form.

The story of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is an unusual one. This by-product of the paper making process was discovered in Germany in the late 19th century. It's a colorless liquid that gained notoriety for its ability to penetrate skin and other biological membranes.Aug 4, 2016
