    I grew up always trusting in professionals more.

    I did too. My whole family consists of professionals. "You are only blue collar if you cant be white collar".
    There always seemed to be this resentment against successful people. They had to make them "bad", (I thought) to justify their own situations.
    Took awhile to see the bigger picture.

    I don't put my values into such subcategories. Honesty, compassion, hardworking, friendliness, tenacity, those are values, and they do not populate our lives based on income or profession

    I trust blue collar values more. Blue collar workers are more authentic. Professionals tend to be much more concerned with social position and are subject to social pressures to conform to the prevailing wisdom (i.e. politically correct).

    White collar professionals will go on and on about racial equality meanwhile living in 99% white zip codes. Their children will never go to school with black kids, but they insist that working class kids do, all because they can't afford to live in toney suburbs.
