    It's a simple question.

    Do you trust the government?

Most of us at least would probably answer with, not with everything no, and yet, Democrat Politicians continue to push their Socialistic Big Government ways upon thee American People.

    Why?

    I used to. Not anymore.

The outrageous lies and propaganda we've being subjected to since 2020, via their useful tool (media), has proven that none of it is in the interests of the people. And I'm not talking about the p@ndemic specifically - a lot of that was true and real - but the period involved. That's when the West's plummet into the dirty propaganda tactics of 'lesser' nations began in earnest. It's become even worse since December 2021.

Then you haven't been paying attention ... You're forgetting how government used the press to justify the Vietnam, and Iraq wars, how the Spanish
American War was mostly a construct - not a necessity. Not saying the US government is terrible - just pointing out they have used
the press at times when it was politically expedient and it's hardly a "2020" thing unless you aren't very educated.

Of course propaganda has always existed, but we now live in a world where it's exposed via technology. Simultaneously, we've accepted ideology in politics. That didn't exist in those earlier epochs, and it's this latter which makes the propanganda so successful. People are living in the freaking information age, yet actually think Ukraine is winning the war and the economic downturn is 'temporary'. They believe that, because despite the endless sources of cross-referencing information available to them, they limit themselves to MSM for political reasons.

There's no excuse for relying on The Guardian, or the BBC, or CNN or whatever propaganda outfit you favour - in this information age. Doing so suggests you're either cultishly ideological, lazy, or so rich that reality isn't your problem. No prizes for any of them .. but poop points for not caring enough to understand what's going on. This is about the impact of malfeascence on the people, after all.

Most of the press in America, is controlled by Liberal Democrat Politicians. It's not that hard to see, because they only echo, whatever their Liberal Democrat Politicians tell them too. Nothing more and nothing less. For they are good little puppets for the Democrat Politicians. (ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Magazines, Papers, Hollywood actors and actresses, Disney, Facebook).

Moronic statement on your part - I said I trust random guys on the internet - which means I don't trust the government very much but trust random guys on the
internet (YOU) even less - what was so hard to understand about that?

No - most of the press is controlled by corporate interest who want to make a buck and target certain
demographics to do so - it ain't rocket science, dude.

Dude - the largest expansion of government in the last 40 years was under George Bush when he created the massive Homeland Security
Department and passed The Patriot Act which gave the government expanded powers to oversee the populace of the country.

So don't stand there and claim roses grow out of republican butts when it comes to spending and expanded government - it's just plain
    horse crap.

It's not an entirely simple question. Sometimes you can trust a person with some things but not others. Sometimes you can trust a person not to do some things, but you cannot trust them not to do other things.

because you didn't answer the original question.

You simply said that you don't trust random guys on the internet.. first.

Then you say you trust random guys on the internet, which means you don't trust the government. But then you trust random guys on the internet even less.

You're not making any sense. First you don't trust random guys on the internet, then you do, then you don't trust the government, but you trust random guys on the internet even less. lol

lol. lmao!!! If you're going to try and throw something into my face and insult me, try to make sure that it makes sense first ok? lmao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's why I also entered, that most Americans don't trust the government with everything. So, I think that we agree. There are some things that can be trusted, and some things that can't.

However, when someone, or something is corrupt, it makes them a lot easier to be corrupt, and get away with things, that even their own people trust them with.

Simple questions may not truly be so.
    Trust needs defining.
Government can mean different things in different contexts.
    Even "simple" has nuances.
We can rely upon something without feeling secure. The present situation leads one to rely on the system in place to do the utmost to keep itself in place. If one's interests align with that, one can "trust" that they will be advanced. Otherwise, one can rely upon being frustrated.

Those who seek power cannot be trusted with it. Those who do not seek power rarely if ever attain it.

    So, no. Not at all.

Our system of govt was designed to keep the power seekers mostly busy competing with eachother, vying for manipulation and domination over the various checks and balances emplaced to keep them distracted. Mostly those have now been co-opted by corporate and special interest power seekers as the elite generally ally with eachother out of convenience to take out the primary enemy- us. Once accomplished, they can fight over the reigns of the machine later to see who comes out on top. Butwhoever wins, it wont be us common folk.

The primary hiccup in this agenda is a still-well-armed populace. The only two things required to prevent the mass enslavement of the population are the means to resist and the will to resist. We definitely still have the means. Whether or not we'll have the will when the last shoe drops is history not yet written.

It is definitely the Democratic Party that has screwed America. Also, the Republican Party. Rather, they are two wings of the same party. The Duopoly Party, representing money and vested interests, runs the government. It has been a long, slow motion coup d'état. Even though the Constitution provides a legal, orderly revolution (throwing out Congress every two years), dulled-out voters don't reason, don't think, don't educated themselves and, above all, don't vote. They are the real traitors.

Psychological Projection. And the worst part, is that most democrats can't tell the difference.

they preach about the 1 percenters, and corperate interests, and yet are part of both. They make things politically correct, and the corporations follow.

Myself, either I have more trust in our government than most or I just don’t care what the government does, right or wrong. I find it interesting that according to Pew Research, only 20% of all Americans trust their own government to do what’s right most of the time. There’s a whole lot of distrust there.

    https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2022/06/06/public-trust-in-government-1958-2022/

We, the people haven’t trusted our government since Nixon. The slide into distrust began in earnest during LBJ. See the graph in the link above. You know we’re in bad shape trust wise when only 29% of Democrats trust their own government when they totally in charge of the government. The Presidency, both chambers of congress. Apparently, we’re electing folks to government that we don’t trust to run government. This also goes back to LBJ and Nixon.

I think our own government has brought this lack of trust on themselves and the lack of trust most Americans have in their own government is well deserved.
