The company I work for primarily contracts with local municipalities nationwide (US and CAN, often as a sub or consultant) on wastewater and stormwater projects. So I primarily work for the govt, though in a roundabout fashion.
Although I am now retired, for nearly all of my working life, I was employed by large defense contractors. So, since there was no 'choice' in the poll that covered people who have worked in those capacities in the past, I answered as though I were still working in one of my two more prominent careers....
I used to but am retired from the USAF and retired from a major company that had a government contract. Nether of those areva choice.
You can just put what you retired from as 'who you work for' if you're still living off what you made there. Whichever one you consider as more financially beneficial to you.
In a sense. I work for a museum. Those are mostly government funded in my country. It's a decentralised system, however, so still a large degree of autonomy as it should be.
I work for the people (though indirectly these day). The government is just the mechanism by which that service is provided.
