By unlimited raging obscenities at them, flaming baiting and prank trolling them, correct?

Have you actually ever been on a political forum with no rules and no moderators?

The last one I was on mostly had messages by someone who posted the word N-word " 500 times in his messages - nothing else - a 14 year old white Canadian - and reposted that identical message every minute, along with someone who had software that posted huge columns of sports scores in every message - 100+ times per minute non stop automatically - each a new message on every thread - as example. If you posted anything, 3 minutes later it would be on page 7 of that thread.

Another one got so violent and threatening - stretching off the forum - the FBI had to involve before any of the death threats were carried out - many members real identities having been learned and posted on the forum.

BUT that's what's you say is GOOD and "talking to each other." Raging obscenities, racial slurs, massive spamming to shut the forum down, and posting people's names and addresses along with death threats so they can be hunted down in person.

I notice you are not posting your name, address, phone number, social security number, DL number - and the names and addresses of your relatives too. However, apparently you'd have no problem if anyone else did, right? Pure free speech on the Internet. Or do I misread your messages?

I have the same question. I live in the USA, not another country. Why should I go mess around with their country? When I know all there is to know about my country and everything is right here, then maybe I'll waste sometime on foreign forums. I don't anticipate that time ever coming.

A forum with NO rules and NO moderators is like claiming the best free speech and dialogue a person could have is to go to a 10,000 masked people riot and going person to person to engage in conversation and an exchange of Ideas. "Excuse me, but would you put down that arm load of stuff you just looted from that store and discuss our balance of trade situation and policies with me?"

I also get a kick out of white people who have visited a few foreign countries tourist districts and then claim they are enlightened world travelers. To become enlightened, go into minority night clubs on the East side of Chicago and East LA barrios bars on a Friday night - and then tell us of the enlightened debates you had - assuming you live.

Really. White people do that, eh? And thanks for clarifying "white people" would be in dire threat of their lives if they went to the ghettos, hoods and barrios on a Friday night. All those racists folks would make sure they got hurt for daring such a thing, right? Like, listening to jazz or wanting authentic mexican street food and in general just hanging out with other humans...thats a no no, I guess.

I object to not being able to write an old
    Archie Bunker term here.
I mean it was broadcast on TV, repeatedly but filtered here.

    Combine Jungle
    and Bunny.
and you have the word that cannot be written, or two.

    Let's see. ************.
    Nope. See the *************
    Too much filter.

I think the idea of "bad words" is silly to begin with. Why is the f-bomb so bad? It's a synonym for intercourse in its most basic meaning.

What would happen if we stopped considering any word to be something taboo and stopped censoring such words altogether? Would society collapse?

    Stick and stones..

I totally agree. If I really want complete freedom of speech, I do not expect to use someone else's microphone or someone else's printing press to provide the access to an audience. I buy my own microphone or my own printing press. People around here should stop whining.

I voted yes, though I'll clarify that it doesnt necessarily. If I have to say 'crap' instead of 'sh**', thats not a violation of speech, thats just cleanliness.
If I have to say 'religious extremists' instead of 'jihadi's', for example, that is a violation of my right to free speech.
6 months ago, I would've answered 'no' to the poll. But now, with the big social media monopolies isolating/banning folks for offensive political views, I have zero doubt that things like word filters will be used to push PCness.

I didn't read this entire thread but while I get your point I have to say unmoderated forums do provide a certain amount of entertainment for me. I am constantly amazed at what people come up with. I like this forum because I can post with the expectation of at least a decent discussion. That being said, the humor in an unmoderated forum does cause me to laugh on a daily basis. I have learned to read the unmoderated forum for about a week so that I can get a vibe of what it is all about before I post. Just my opinion.

Is the filter on a website you own?

Any kind of such filters should be on the individual users end as an option, not across the entire platform.

Good for you! However, if you don't own it, you have no expectation of controlling what is said there to start with. You post there with the knowledge that it is only with the permission of the owner(s).

Therefore, the answer to your original question is a resounding NO.

But the issue is control. HAVE you not traded self control to become a puppet?
What string shall they pull next time?

Correct. I tend to only use swearing if it's part of or supports the joke. If I get perturbed, I'll put **** etc.. in the post.

I find a difference of culture curtails freedom of speech. I have been temp banned on an American forum for using two everyday British words/meaning. The one that got me into hot water was when you can't remember or be bothered to go and check their name etc.. so you just use "thing" and/or "thingy". Just an informal noun.

    https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/thingy

So on the thread/story, I said, "Transgender Thingy" because I couldn't remember the gender, name etc.. A poster went ape and infractions ensued.

So I'm not overly struck on swearing. I've found some have a negative agenda and twist what you say to impose free speech problems, if you know what I mean.
