But, she was never charged, even after the director of the FBI admitted she broke the law. And, you were ok with that.

I think it's clear that @Tahuyaman does not understand what a Special Counsel is. To @Tahuyaman, the DOJ investigation of Trump has been going on for months. It did NOT start when Trump announced. The purpose of a Special Counsel is to distance the DOJ from the investigation in order to avoid any improper political influence BECAUSE he announced he was running.

I understand exactly what an appointment of a special, prosecutor is supposed to be. I also understand how that process is sometimes and currently can be abused and used as a partisan weapon.

Yes, the DOJ investigation was initiated a few months ago. There was no need to abandon that and appoint a special prosecutor. Garland openly admitted that the reason he made this decision was because Trump announced his intent to run for POTUS against a sitting president. He wasn't intending to distance the DOJ. The DOJ shouldn't need to do that as they aren't supposed to be a partisan operation.

Democrats have no issue with the DOJ being used as a political weapon by a Democrat administration.

Humpty Trumpty, the bloke who appeared on the front page of Murdoch's rag, Murdoch having plagiarised my idea of referring to Humpty Trumpty as Humpty Trumpty.

Of course you do. I just explained it to you. But you clearly didn't before that.

That's a different topic. My purpose was to accomplish what you stated in your first sentence you now understand. I'm not interested in your "Deep State" QAnon conspiracy theories.

I don't think there was a "need" either, but they decided to go the extra mile to avoid any semblance of impropriety. I think this delays the outcome that anybody who believes in rule of law is hoping for: seeing the criminal Trump facing a Jury.

The DOJ was turned into a partisan political weapon by the current AG.

    Your Q idiocy fell flat.

That’s not what happened. The DOJ just ensured there’s not going to be any oversight independent of the AG. . It was purely a partisan decision.

That's EXACTLY what happened! It's the reason why the DOJ uses Special Counsel.

And you thought that the investigation carried out BY the DOJ (which is what we had before the Special Counsel) IS independent of the AG?

    Unbelievable!!!!

The current AG has politically weaponized the DOJ. Obviously you approve. Of course you'll do a 180 on that when there's another Republican president.

No. The investigation which was already underway was subject to congressional oversight. That was oK until the prospect of a Republican congress became a reality.

Guess what somebody found at Crazy Uncle's storage locker in Palm Beach??

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/dec/07/trump-classified-documents-found

Seems you cannot swing a woke, CRT-educated cat in Florida without running into our Nations secrets in unsecure locations...

Dealing with T**** is like asking your 11 year old to clean his/her room.... Takes several requests and a LOT of whining (although little OOJ) before a simple task is done...

Anybody wanna bet this is the end of it?

Trump hiring some company to look for classified docs throughout his properties like it's suppose to mean something, is the stupidest yet.
iirc: The judge asked his lawyers something about having more classified documents and this is what his lawyers came up with.
The DOJ must be ;laughing their asses off at these stooges and hell no, Jack Smith isn't a fool.

Well, I'm certain Mr. Smith is NOT going to take their word for it, but it was actually good, if extremely late, lawyering from whomever is the current head clown over there...

If somebody had done this back in May, with the original subpoena, and voluntarily turned over ALL classified documents found, Mango possibly wouldn't be in the deep legal kimchee he is (on this topic).

Smartest move from a T**** hired lawyer since.......... hmmmmmmm......... I'm stumped, but it's too late...

DOJ now has full access to everything seized from MAL, with order entered by the 11th circuit...

    SNIP
A federal appeals court on Thursday freed the Justice Department to resume using the thousands of documents seized from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in its criminal investigation following months of legal wrangling with the former president.

Trump had until Thursday to ask the full 11th Circuit or the Supreme Court to intervene and pause the effect of the panel’s decision. When he and his lawyers didn’t act, the appeals court issued a notice known as a mandate that made the decision final.
