    This afternoon, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller to serve as special counsel for the Russia investigation.

    I'm glad that's out of the way. It was a no-brainer after all the revelations about Trump's actions. Now we wait and see where it leads.

    That would be interesting. I'd like to hear your theory on how a probe of Trump's campaign aides would lead to Hillary. Do tell.

    Mueller should placate everyone for now that is irate over Trump's obstruction of justice into the Russia probe.

    It would be a funny thing though if Trump fires him later on as well.

    Then it would be rather difficult for the GOP to avoid appointing a special prosecutor.

    Both parties are good at stonewalling as is Trump as a CEO.

    And both parties are good at lying continuously as is Trump as a CEO.

    100% correct. Anyone that can't find the real collusion is always between Democrats and Russia is just lying or not even looking.

    Even if that were true, how would a probe of Trump's aides lead to her? I just don't see it.

    That is because you haven't been paying attention. Everyone know that Russian hacking led to Hillary winning the election. Not Russia's fault that they forgot that the President is actually elected by the electoral college and not the popular vote.

    Another investigation that can go on for years without offering up a single shred of evidence. I thought you had to have evidence to "prosecute", be it special or standard.

    Eventually the public is going to grow frustrated with the ZERO evidence games, and it will NOT be good for Medicrats pushing this narrative, at the polls, or in the ratings.

    It wouldn't have if the investigation was done properly. Because only an incompetent idiot would limit the investigation about leaks to wikileaks coming from only Russian sources and with Trump connections. Eventually Seth Rich's name is going to come back up and this will become a murder investigation.

    So this means Schumer & Co. have run out of excuses for continuing their orchestrated campaing of obstructionism? I guess that justifies the concession. Glad to know congressional Dems are ready to engage in the tasks at hand.

    Ah, I see. So you have no actual point except baseless conspiracy theories.

    The investigation of Trump's aides is about possible collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign. It is not about WikiLeaks.

    There is a separate investigation of the DNC hack, which I believe is still going on.

    The evidence that Seth Rich had anything to do with this is "he was a DNC staffer, and he died." That's it. And his family just got taken advantage of by a couple of asshat conspiracy theorists, who "investigated" the death and then lied to Fox News, claiming they had evidence of a connection to WikiLeaks. This led to the family demanding retractions from both them and Fox, and the "investigator" admitting he had no such evidence.

    I especially love the Seth Rich story for its batshit insanity. For it to be true, you have to believe that:

    -- Seth Rich leaked the information, but left no trace that investigators can find;
    -- Hillary nonetheless found out, and had him killed;
    --The killing was carried out perfectly, leaving no hint of foul play for the police to uncover;
    -- Meanwhile, someone using Russia-connected IP addresses and methods hacked the DNC servers;
    -- Shortly after the hack, the information appeared on WikiLeaks.
    -- But the hack wasn't the source of the data; it was either a coincidence or a frame up.

    Yeah, that is just TOTALLY believable.

    Because he lied to Pence, which isn't a crime.

    Rush Limbaugh nailed it. The Democrats are going to regret all of this because it will inevitably to areas they wanted to remain hidden. The Dems, and the MSM, have been snookered. http://www.breitbart.com/video/2017/05/17/rush-limbaugh-obama-actually-trump-accused/

    Rush Limbaugh is a fatuous moron, and Breitbart is a discredited garbage scow of Trump-supporting dreck.

    Obama answering a media question by giving his personal opinion about Hillary's guilt/innocence is not even in the same league as privately and directly asking the FBI director to drop an active investigation. FFS.

    Y'all keep claiming there is not "a single shred of evidence", but there is plenty of evidence to warrant an investigation. Enough to convict? Apparently not yet. But that's what investigations are for.

    You have to have enough evidence to warrant an investigation. That is not the same as having enough evidence to prosecute. You investigate to see if there is enough evidence to prosecute. That's why it is called an investigation.

    Okay. You seem to be giving Trump a free pass on his own contributions to this: All the weird connections between his campaign and Russia, the undisclosed contacts, his efforts to impede the investigation, his lying about the reason for firing Comey, etc. THAT is what led to Mueller's appointment. Trump has no one to blame but himself.
