Actually, US intelligence agencies (and foreign intelligence agencies, for that matter) conduct morally dubious operations all the time. Slander, blackmail, assassinations: all standard tools of the trade. You'ld be sweating bullets, too, if the CIA or NSA decided to destroy you.

I am fascinated how lefties are now champions of the spies and the spooks. Its as if they had no principles whatsoever.

I don't especially defend the Mr. Trump, but I object to misleading information. Trump did not call on Russia to hack the DNC. He asked Russia to release Ms. Clinton's missing emails, which they did not do. And this call was after damaging information about the DNC was already released.

But I am sure you would be just as happy impeaching Trump based on lies and innuendos as you would be impeaching him on facts, so perhaps my scruples on this matter are of little import to you.

But to get back to my original point, the CIA has a long history of subverting foreign governments. What makes you think they would hesitate to subvert ours?

 

That's funny because I remember when the FBI was following up on investigation regarding Hillary's missing emails and Benghazi everyone was calling that a witch hunt.

No, he encouraged them to find Hillary's emails that WERE in the past on Hillary's computer in the basement. NOT the DNC' computer. By the time Trump said that, Hillary had already destroyed the server so there was nothing to be hacked.

It's a lie. I've watch the video of the speech and looked at transcripts. He never asked Russia to hack anything. Show me a quote.You are spreading a lie and now you are doing it willingly instead of by ignorance.

Wrongful collaboration with the Russians is yet to be proved or disproved, but the Dem's pointing the finger at every instance of Trump's contact with Russia is foolhardy.

Humanity's well-being depends on these superpowers keeping things from spiraling out of control, so you want them at each other's throats instead of communicating on safe and sane terms? A better world future cannot be built on bad habits of the past.

There are two Grand Juries in play and now --- Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed a Special Prosecutor former FBI Director Robert Mueller. Let's wait and see what the evidence is and where it leads us. US Federal Special Prosecutors are notorious for being a cross between infamous Joseph McCarthy [House Committee on Un-American Activities (HUAC)] and the notorious Tomás de Torquemada (Catholic Grand Inquisitor of Spain); both of which have placed in question public confidence in government. Even one of the best known former Special Prosecutors (Former Solicitor General Ken Starr) indicated there was no need for a special prosecutor examining Russian involvement into Russian relative to the 2016 presidential election.

BUT, since one has been appointed, it will be interesting to see if the political bandwagon riders that oppose the White House actually have some legs to stand upon; or if this is assassination by innuendo and unsubstantiated rumor and implication at a distance. I don't necessarily approve of The President; but that does not mean he should not be given a fair shake. I really do not approve of the Congressional Action and Media Rabble Rousing staged to inciting the people to rebel against The Office of the President. Washington has turned into a virtual snake pit.

I don't recall calling the FBI investigation itself a witch hunt. I recall calling all the dramatic pearl-clutching and rumor-mongering by conservatives a witch hunt.
