DOJ Task Force On Election Worker Threats Makes First Arrest

The Justice Department charged a man from Texas on Friday with threatening three government officials, the first criminal case brought forward by the department’s task force on combating violent threats against election workers.

According to the Justice Department’s announcement, 54-year-old Chad Christopher Stark of Leander, Texas was arrested by the FBI on Friday and charged with one count of making interstate threats. Prosecutors alleged in a 4-page indictment that Stark posted an ad on Craigslist on Jan. 5 last year offering $10,000 for the deaths of the three officials, who were not named in the indictment.
The title of the alleged ad declared that it was “time to kill” one of the officials.

“Georgia Patriots it’s time for us to take back our state from these Lawless treasonous traitors. It’s time to invoke our Second Amendment right it’s time to put a bullet in the treasonous Chinese [Official A]. Then we work our way down to [Official B] the local and federal corrupt judges,” Stark allegedly wrote.

How would a guy in TX come up with batshyte crazy ideas about officials in GA?

Trump Tweets Conspiracy About Georgia Secretary of State’s ‘Brother’ Who ‘Works for China’

In a middle of an unhinged Twitter rant about his electoral loss late Tuesday night, President Donald Trump threw out a wild conspiracy theory about Georgia’s Republican secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger, that was so outrageous that the far-right website Gateway Pundit recently deleted an article that made the same claim.

“I love the Great State of Georgia, but the people who run it, from the Governor, @BrianKempGA, to the Secretary of State, are a complete disaster and don’t have a clue, or worse. Nobody can be this stupid. Just allow us to find the crime, and turn the state Republican...” the president tweeted before turning his attention to Raffensperger. “Now it turns out that Brad R’s brother works for China,” he added, “and they definitely don’t want ‘Trump’. So disgusting!”

    https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump...state-brad-raffenspergers-nonexistent-brother

Putting aside all the other delusional horseshit Dear Leader crammed in to the tweet there's this.........Raffensperger doesn't have a brother.

I submit to you, dear reader, no other politician could survive this single event. Making insane, self-serving, unfounded claims about the GA election........then creating a deranged claim about a non-existent brother.........both showing a detachment from reality.........how has this nut not be completely shunned by Repubs?

    Instead.................

McConnell says he'll 'absolutely' support Trump in 2024 if he's the GOP nominee

That designation seems to fit. Does it bother you?

He also, according to the indictment, claimed that “it’s our duty as American Patriots to put an end to the lives of these traitors

No. Most domestic terrorists in the US are on the right. So it’s more not surprising just worrisome.

I think it's reasonable to believe one can draw a straight line from Trump's unhinged, accusatory tweet and this guy's belief of a Chinese connection to one of the men he wanted to kill.
Any other human being would immediately apologize for their part in Stark's actions. Any other politician would understand their career is over. For Trump, it's just another thing for The Following to shrug off.

Second Person Arrested By DOJ Election Unit Made Repeated, Violent Calls To Nevada SoS Office

The Justice Department’s Election Threats Task Force has charged a second person in its investigations into violent threats against election workers.

The DOJ announced on Thursday that a 50-year-old Nevada man named Gjergi Luke Juncaj was arrested in Las Vegas on Wednesday and charged with four counts of making a threatening phone call.

Prosecutors alleged that Juncaj called the Nevada Secretary of State’s office four times and threatened the worker, who is identified as “S.M.” in the indictment, on Jan. 7 last year – a day after the Capitol insurrection and Congress’ certification of Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory.

In the first call, Juncaj allegedly told the worker, “I want to thank you for such a great job you all did on stealing the election. I hope you all go to jail for treason. I hope your children get molested. You are all going to ****ing die.”

Love it! These Americans believe that they can commit fraud because of party leader and cult. Have at them DOJ and states if they think fraud is the solution to The Big Lie.

It's a further sign that Repubs are seeking remedies for political grievances by violent means.

Most definitely by corrupt means, but yes, some will be violent. It's radicalization.

Bullshit. The only thing worrisome is the tendency of the left to start calling every deranged lunatic a terrorist.

I seem to remember Bernie Sanders inciting a violent attack on people who stood in opposition to his free stuff agenda.

I also remember a Soros acolyte at dKos posting that Gabby Giffords voted against Pelosi for minority leader and "now she is DEAD to me".

No consequences for attempted murder in either case.

What term would you apply to this guy? He fits the text book definition of a terrorist.

The grave danger in all of this is Americans reading about another election official being threatened by a Trump acolyte and saying to themselves "oh, that again" but not saying "fealty to Trump's Big Lie is a threat to the beating heart of democracy......free and fair elections."

But threatening to jail Trump voters over crank phone calls like the second guy is perfectly acceptable? By the way if you want to make actual threats against election become ho hum, keep arresting harmless cranks.

There are more of pelt like this guy out there. The problem is Republicans are trying to protect them, which is they are trying to find out if the FBI had infiltrated their terrorist network.
