    Interesting.

I would have thought he would have left security and protection to the experts, those in law enforcement with a vast amount of experience protecting the president, instead of some hired guns who seem to be doing a very poor job.

However, it is Trump, and why use what works when one can simply think they are smarter and do something different.

Furthermore, how subject are these hired guns going to be to review? If something were to happen and violence was needed to protect Trump (as he most certainly is entitled to the best possible protection) would you want a security company to do it or the Secret Service (cue links to a couple of Secret Service agents behaving poorly) who would be actual law enforcement officers?

Sounds to me that Trump is simply trying to create a tangled mess due to his preference for loyalty over ability.

Donald Trump could use all the protection he can get.

The president-elect plans on keeping his private security and intelligence team once he takes office, Politico reported Monday. Every modern president and president-elect has entrusted security detail to the Secret Service and local law enforcement. But Trump has been employing his own private security team for the victory rallies he has held during the transition. Trump, who values loyalty over customs and tradition, will retain the security team run by Keith Schiller, a retired New York City cop and Navy veteran who started working for Trump back in 1999.

Trump’s security force developed a hostile reputation over the course of the campaign. Schiller, for example, was caught on video striking a Latino protester in the head outside Trump Tower. He also removed Univision news anchor Jorge Ramos from an August 2015 new conference in Dubuque, Iowa. Three lawsuits currently pending against Trump allege racial profiling, undue force and aggression from the president-elect’s security team.

Keith Schiller, Trump’s head of security, also punched Latino protester outside Trump Tower after taking his signs: https://t.co/drpBjkTpVJ

As president-elect Trump becomes President Trump, the nature of his rallies will change. As Politico noted, a taxpayer-funded rally will only be able to be staffed by public law-enforcement sources — meaning Trump’s security force won’t be able to remove protesters unless they are breaking the law, Politico noted.

But who is paying for this private security force that seems to be unauthorized by anyone accountable to the American taxpayer? Politico asked the transition team who was paying, how they were going to work with the Secret Service and what their roles will be. The Trump transition team avoided the question. An email by Salon similarly went unanswered.

In 2012, Alex Jones was worried about Obama’s “brown shirts,” also known as FEMA corps graduates. Conspiracy theorists accused them of being a “standing army of government youth” for the president. No word yet on what Alex Jones thinks about Trump’s group.

Even if Trump’s own private security force turns out not to be the second coming of the SS, there’s another problem: They’re not very good at security.

According to one former Secret Service agent, who served on President Obama’s private security detail, a private security presence increases the liability of the Secret Service, causing greater confusion and risk in the executive’s protection. Take, for example, what happened during a rally in March:

In March, when a 32-year-old man jumped a barricade and rushed toward the stage as Trump was speaking at a rally in Dayton, Ohio, Secret Service agents immediately descended on Trump from opposite sides of the dais, encircling him in a human shield as a handful of other agents tackled the man before he could leap onto the stage. About a second after the first two agents reached Trump, Schiller leapt onto the stage and moved to position himself between the scrum and his boss.

    . . .

In law enforcement circles, Schiller’s reaction was panned as too slow and was the subject of disapproving conversation among agents, according to a law enforcement source briefed on the conversations. The source said one agent described Schiller as the “JV trying to keep up in a varsity game.”

Specifically, the source said that Schiller came from a position on the dais that the agents would have used to evacuate Trump if that were to have been necessary. “If that happened, they would have run right into Keith. He was about three seconds too late,” the source sai

If Trump's private security detail gets him creamed then Pence and other people will get promoted. I'll bet a lot of people hope that Trump keeps his private security detail.

Why would anyone assume Trump's private security team are not experienced?

If you think about it, anyone trying to charge or rush Trump would probably be better off if he did use the SS and not his own personal staff. If anything, this should make someone think a little more before doing something stupid. And the article is from Salon, so it's more than likely most of it is wrong anyway.

    Fake News:

Not every modern President and president-elect has entrusted security detail to the Secret Service and local law enforcement. President Richard Nixon had his own private security detail who worked along side with the Secret Service when he was President.

After Nixon resigned and when he sold his home in San Clemente and moved to N.Y. City he no longer used the Secret Service and provided his own security detail.

I seriously doubt Nixon's or Trump's personal security detail are drinking and chasing whores, today's Secret Service can't make that claim today.

President Reagan also packed or kept hand guns in the Oval Office and in his living quarters in the White House and also at his private residence in California.

    FYI:
Obama always milking the taxpayers for every dime he can signed into law that all former Presidents and their families will get Secret Service protection for life.

betcha I have more experience in this than you do. Private security at the billionaire level is serious stuff, not the wannabe a cop but couldn't pass the test types. Contact Dynacorp or G4S and ask them what they charge for 24 and 7 protection

I seriously doubt Trump's security detail were picked from a diversity list like today's Secret Service picks it's agents today.

Look at who Obama picked as the director of the Secret Service back in 2013, an affirmative action appointment Julia Pierson.

Well that didn't work out to well, like most of Obama's appointments based upon either race, ethnicity, gender or sexual preference and it was a failure from the start.

Today Joseph Clancy is the Director of the Secret Service, almost as qualified as Sheriff Joe Arpiao but Sheriff Joe has more experience under his belt than Clancy.

Hehe. He set himself up for lifetime protection. However, he has little to worry about - it's the radical leftists who are dangerous today.

I'm sure if Trump fired his security and went with free SS the left would complain he was cheap and wasting taxpayer money.

Reload and fire again. You missed by a country mile.

That what history has shown us.

What President has recerived the most death threats ???

Not Obama but it was LBJ.

Obama had an insurance policy, Joe Biden as his VP.

Who were threatening LBJ ? The radical left counter culture movement. Today better known as the Democrat establishment.
