Not sure how that is breaking tradition since the majority of our presidents have never greeted their new arrivals.

That's only been in recent times.

Heck, they will have moved Trump out completely by then, they do it during the inauguration,

A whole fleet of trucks and movers show up and do it in a couple of hours.

Makes no sense for the president to be there.

Trying to understand the point of the OP?
Hell, the Clintons had stolen our silverware and china and had it packed and out of the WH long before inauguration day.

Makes no sense for the ex-President to flee the country on inauguration day ... unless he's worried about a knock on the door from
the NY State Attorney General after he leaves office.

I don't think the story is true about him leaving the country - but if he does, the Secret Service is going to have to make a decision about
how much of a security risk that would be and how to deal with it.

There is the rumor that he'll resign early and allow Pence to pardon him. I think if trump tried to pardon himself the courts might later decide that's a no-no.

    What is fake news?

The title to the article says he may/could be in Scotland, not that he will be in Scotland on that day. But it DOES say that an aircraft of the exact same type that is used to carry the POTUS is schedule do land there on January 19th, 2021 and that special security precautions are already underway.

Oh, and every time Scotland has noticed this in the last four years, guess who has appeared?

    trump!

    Lolwut?:roflol:

Why are you spreading such obvious BS that can be Debunked with a simple Google Search?

There have been ONLY 3 Times in U.S. History when an outgoing President didn't attend his successor's Inauguration.

In the past, three outgoing presidents -- John Adams in 1801, John Quincy Adams in 1829 and Andrew Johnson in 1869 -- refused to attend their successors' inaugurations.

Where would you even come up with such obvious Misinformation?:bored:

I have no idea to whom you are responding, because I have banned that person to Cyberia. But my friendly advice to you is: beware of the weird voices of the people screaming between the walls, for there is a reason why they are there to begin with.

There have been some times when the inauguration of a new president was pretty "frosty", for instance, FDR's 1st inauguration in 1933 and JFK's inauguration in 1961. But it is indeed historically correct that only three US presidents simply refused to attend their successor's inauguration. In the case of Andrew Johnson, who was impeached but missed conviction in the Senate by the hair of his chinny-chin-chin, I think he was pretty aware that no one wanted to see his ugly face, to begin with. So, his absence from General Grant's inauguration was probably a good thing. And in 2020, without having to see the white-supremacist wannabe nazi Trump on the dias with victor Joe Biden, I can live with this as well. I have given up hoping that Trump will ever understand decency and proper decorum. He's simply a common guttersnipe when it comes to the finer things in life and it's impossible for the man to summon his better angels, for he never had a better angel in him to begin with.

Actually it is not. They had to fork over a lot of money and return several items they claimed were personal gifts to them that were determined to be gifts to the WH or the US.

Well then, since you are so sure that your claim is correct, surely you can pony up a link for this, amirite?

And if that happens, it will become clear to anyone with unbiased eyes how hypocritical he is. He is declaring himself the winner of the election - so quitting shouldn't be an option for him. His doing that - in my mind - would be as big a flag for the courts as if he pardoned himself.

And if that is his plan, methinks he'd better be nicer to Pence and his performance on the 6th.

I would wager to say that the next 24-36 hours will be the most stressful of Trump's life.

Up to that point. I imagine the hours after he no longer holds the title are looking pretty scary to him.
