“The new platform of the Democrat Party—you notice I say Democrat Party? I hate the way it sounds, that’s why I say it,” Trump said. “Because it’s really their name. It’s not the Democratic Party.”


However, it is the Democratic Party—and has been for about 200 years. The Democratic National Committee, as the party is formally organized, has existed in its current form since 1848. It is the oldest political party in the United States—older than the “Grand Old Party” of Republicanism.

 

Trump is a BRAINLESS MORON who LIES constantly, and has no idea wtf he is talking about.

That has ALWAYS been the case with that ORANGE IMBECILE.

This is nothing new, and totally expected from that BLOATED IDIOT.

 

Is it just me or does it feel that the rants against anyone not Trumpist are getting worse? Even the pretense of being a president for ALL Americans is gone. It is Trumpist against the rest of America and the world.

The democrats aren't very democratic is what he saying. Because democracy only exists on the local and state level, any party who advocates for more federal control and less local and state is technically advocating for a stronger republic over a stronger democracy.

Well, Democrat States held that the majority could rape, lynch, whip and enslave the minority. Our Republic is dedicated to INDIVIDUAL not group rights, but, until the adoption of the Republican 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments, the Constitution did not clearly state that the Federal Government could assume the role of protecting INDIVIDUAL rights from abuse by State Majorities. Remember, in a gang rape, the majority wants sex but an individual has their rights horribly violated.

That was remedied by the Civil War and took a flood of blood to do so. We aren't going to allow Democrats to return to Lynch Mob "justice".

Randy Barnett wrote a great book on the tension between the republican and democrat America that has been there since the founding. The battle to keep these two forces balanced is one that our nation has been engaged in since it's birth.

Most of my life democrats have called themselves democrats and it's only recently they wanted to be called the Democratic party. It must have focused grouped well.
