Just scared the **** out of me with verbal abuse. I wasn't with my parents. Just visiting the sweet shop.

But it;s normal. Scotland is as racists as the next not very racist place. I don't think the human race has evolved again yet. Sorry.

    I'm a Londoner..

I'm a little bit nervous about going into London on Tuesday however; Just because of that Ariana Grande attack and this strike was called off that was planned on Tuesday because of it, and now I'm able to get the train to London on Tuesday and...
I feel little bit like a lamb going into slaughter about that one.
'It's like, if terrorism is more sinister and it turns out to be rooted in British civil servants creating this chaos for scaring the public to vote a certain way, then this strike being called off on Tuesday.
I'd go because I've got to, but, I do honestly feel like a lamb going into slaughter before the general election in Britain.
It should be okay, but where I am going does need 2 forms of ID and is invitation only and whatever, but whatever. Mmmmm...

We don't have the problems you have. See my other post. Basically probably because Scotland had enough with Catholic/Protestant sectarianism, especially Glasgow and of course the English. It has been considered racism to act as you describe to someone because they are English just the same as it would be to someone black for quite some time and although yes there was quite a lot of anti English racism going on, I haven't noticed any since I came back about 8 years ago. Glasgow Catholics have historically protected people from racism (maybe not the English!) as they know what it feels like. Salmond worked very hard on eliminated racism particularly sectarianism and against the English - too hard as far as some people were concerned. However it seemed to be quite successful and Rangers fans started to be found also flying the Saltire and even voting for Indy. Things were defo going well.

However now we have the Tories trying to make us the same as England and putting in all kinds of racist counsellors - ex BNP, UKIP and even Orange Men!! Very, very concerning. We certainly do not have the problems with Muslims that you have in England and Scottish 'Nationalism' (I hate Nationalism) but Scottish Nationalism is civic and inclusive unlike English Nationalism. Hence how Baroness Warsi sees it uniting people while English Nationalism is ethnic Nationalism and hence produces Islamophobia and racism towards the 'other' in general.

Of course we will have racists. It just is not socially acceptable to be racist as it seems to be now in England and it most certainly is not accepted by the Government. The Tories no doubt want that changed so that we will all be BritNat Unionists.

I'm going to vote for Sam Kasamu (Conservative Party)
I just hate that he's running in a Labour safe seat.

Sam Kasamu is a young entrepreneur.

    @ Alexa

I cannot begin to count the amount of online racism I've experienced from Scottish people in the referendum campaign and since. To be quite honest with you.

I have spent hours per day for weeks on end with people who devoted their entire waking days to writing online about how much the English suck and how much they are abusing the Scottish.
I'm trying to be gentle with you when I say this.

You must have bumped into Jaydee on your forum travels. I love the old fella, but he's a racist. And the race he hates isn't black people or Muslim's, it's English.
A prejudice is now and has always been promoted in Scotland against the English. All my life I have been aware of it. Even as a child. Institutionalised racism? Not Quite. Nationalised racism? Almost. Cultural racism.

Scottish are superior. More moral, more rich more smart. Nicer in history. Victims of evil English, who abuse them.
This narrative is racist and it is the loudest political narrative in the land.

Get a lid on it. If I spoke the way about Muslim's as scots do about English, you'd flip your lid at me.
But you don;t stand up and take issue with these people when they do it, and the reason is you don't see it as racism at all. Because you think the same thing yourself. Culturally racist.

London, less racist. A cosmopolitan society. Londoners know lots of foreigners. Lots and lots and lots of contact with them in their daily lives. Each and every person they meet in any day may be a different nationality.
    Multi-cultural.

No, I don't know these people. Further I most certainly did the one time I heard someone be racist against the English on a forum point it out. Stop telling lies about me. You clearly go to places where Scottish people of the same type of mentality as those who talk about Muslims here are. Your choice but it is not what I have experienced. Of course we all heard about the so called -cannot remember the name they gave them but people who were like that during the Indyref I seem to remember it was not very many but of course constantly reported..... and I have no idea who your Jaydee is but if you are projecting one person onto all the people of Scotland that itself is racism.

As you want to know my personal experience I will tell you. I came back to Scotland from London in 88. My daughter was 7. It was obvious her accent was not Scottish. At school she was bullied by two girls in the class above for being English and what they claimed she had done to their ancestors. When eventually she stood up to them as I kept suggesting and said putting it her way 'Go away you big bullies' all the kids from her own class came over and started shouting the same at the two bullies who left and never bullied her again. Bullies will look for what they can to bully. I noticed racism towards English people a little at that time and there were one or two serious incidents which racism tends itself towards - that is racist attacks. It was at that point I seem to remember Scotland decided to treat racism towards the English the same as any other form of racism. I left Scotland again and came back in 2009 and as I said I have not experienced it at all myself since. My daughter is married to an Englishman and the most racism he has experienced is people asking him in shops if he is enjoying his holiday - that is out in the country people imagining due to his accent, because he is in Scotland, he is on holiday. Nothing worse.

You I believe are projecting - that is you are extremely racist towards Scottish people. I know this not only because of what you are saying now but because of other things you have written both in this forum and at another I sometimes lurk at.

If you think your kid getting beaten up at school for being English isn't racist, then OK fine.

    I think it is.
My mates son aged seven got the same thing at school for being a Paki.

I accept that bullies are bullies, that kids will pick on whatever differences they can find.
But they learnt the "historical evils of England" somewhere aged 7. Didn't they.

They came to school pre-programmed with their parents prejudices. It exists.

I don't have to take **** from Scottish people about racism. The bar they set? Not so high actually.
Not quite the master race they think they are.

Been to Scotland, been racially abused there. Not a one off experience.
Not the end of the world. But to be honest, I get a better response in openly racist Japan. Go down better in black American ghettos than white Scottish ones.

The gap was closed this week between Labour and Conservative.
    - Because Theresa May stuck her foot in her mouth, NOT because Jeremy Corbyn done or said anything.

Did you never think it was your own attitude to the Scots which got you "racially abused"?

Live debate on TV, I saw the first 10/15 minutes then walked away thinking
Labour want everyone to be on benefits and pay for all kids to have school meals, even rich kids, and they're prepared to make a bad deal with the EU over not deal with the EU and wish to increase corporation tax.

The Labour Party are stopping companies from employing in the UK if they get scared away from the UK and Job seekers allowance is £60.00 per week.
They want more food banks too so when you've spent your benefit money on shoes and marijuana or at the bookies or the pub, you could go to the food bank for your weekly shopping of Tesco domestic brand corn flakes so you can go home and play your Xbox and keep having more babies.

They want you to live off benefits and have the rich people pay for it rather than you looking for a job. And then you wonder why there are no Jobs when Starbucks leaves the UK.

Aged 6, I hadn't been thinking in those terms.

My attitude to the Scots was along this lines. Yay I love my Scottish family. I love Scotland.
First time I discovered it wasn't entirely mutual. Aged 6.

So yeah, I could have been the racist. A 6 year old racially abusing a Scottish drunk got what I rightfully deserved in return.
If you prefer that fantasy to the reality, carry on.

We are not babies, we are men, we are women.

I don't want a Nanny State paying for The Able making men and women across the country settle for a lower offer rather than chase the dream, the goal, and win.

Put down your Xbox controller and your tablet, go out, and make looking for work your new job **Congratulations, 'you're employed' and don't come home until you've found something to do otherwise you're like a stay at home mouth on the teet of society. Come home after work, cherish the holidays more - Then you have the right to Bitch about wages not being enough to get on the property ladder in an area with a decent school.

Then you can ask for change, ask for more jobs, ask for more pay, ask for more homes for you and yours, and remember; **** The Jobcentre, **** Labour.

    Remember Tony Blair.
Remember the lost generation you are.

Study history, and know why we're a joke to Gearheads in the automotive world, because the Robin Reliant is more like a Trabant than a Mustang. That's Socialism in the UK!
    That's Labour.
Don't let it **** with Brexit.

Wasn't thinking of the aged 6 time..that was unacceptable regardless of your attitude. Was thinking more of the.... Not a one off experience.... remark. Just so you know....I can sympathise...but I didn't have to go to England to be racially abused by English people, there I only had my Scottish notes refused...they came to live in Scotland to do it, though not specially to abuse me....they just didn't like Scots....but did like the cheap land. But I don't think all English people are racist, just just because I have been acquainted with two who were...because I know many who are not...some of them even in the SNP.

I don't think all Scottish people are deeply racist, but I don't think they are anyone's little angels either. And if I ever was looking to Scotland for role model in anything, racism? So not one of those things that comes to mind.

Sorry Scotland but you make your bed and then you get to sleep in it.
So yeah, you can blame the English if you like. Nothing new. Heard it all my life.
We are racists and god know what else.
    Carry on.

Not really doing much to change my opinion so far.
Scots just spent the last 4 years calling us puss as loudly as they can and they have no desire to stop now.
We've never done anything but try and help them and we're really sick of them as people. As a society. They are piss poor.

I used to feel pride in my association with their nation and now I don't.
The public face of Scotland is a horrible one. Ugly. I feel sorry for the decent people who live there. It's a shame.

These day's I associate Scotland with England haters on the internet. England haters on TV. That is what the word "Scotland" means to me.
