The federal eviction moratorium in place since September is set to expire Saturday, after the Biden administration refused to extend it and Democrats in Congress couldn't muster the votes to intervene.

As the clock runs out on a nationwide eviction ban for what’s expected to be the final time, millions of tenants are staring at the prospect of losing their homes as they wait for emergency rental aid that the government has failed to deliver.

The federal eviction moratorium in place since September is set to expire Saturday, after the Biden administration refused to extend it and Democrats in Congress couldn't muster the votes to intervene. Now lawmakers and activists fear an unprecedented surge in evictions in the coming months just as the highly transmissible Delta variant causes a spike in coronavirus cases.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.po...ion-moratorium-rental-assistance-biden-501917

Yet another failure by the Biden administration after a string of failures since he was sworn in.

First his moratorium was found unconstitutional, and then the Democrat led house failed to get the needed votes to implement a new moratorium.

These top Dems did vote in a pay raise for themselves, though.

And the kicker, the homes put on the market after the evictions will be purchased by a hedge fund company that donates to Biden.

He really is something. Combine this with his disasterous covid management and the highest levels of inflation seen in 30 years and Biden voters have to be asking themselves what were they thinking?

The moratorium ends at midnight, tonight.

This is going to drive the Squad crazy and AOC will blame it on racism and global warming. Mark my words. Take it to the bank. Bet the farm on it.

If she really wanted to show solidarity, she’d go find a homeless encampment and live there for a few months.

What makes you claim the title of liberal? Frankly you operate more like a Democrat.

It’s fine, the states can have their own. California’s doesn’t end until September.

You have two homes and the homeless have none. I see a little inequity there.

I'm not surprised. There were rumors about this last year, but most of the attention went to BlackRocks investment in a company that was burning down the Brazilian Rainforest for livestock while the left was putting out stories about stopping the factory farms. Now there's hundreds of stories in defense of BlackRocks housing purchases. This one author argued that BlackRock had only bought $100 million in Real Estate, which is ridiculous. Investors at BlackRock wouldn't get hard for less than billion. Bloomberg reported BlackRocks purchase of Company with 17,000 homes for $6 Billion. Why not? Banks are basically giving away money.

Blackstone bought a company called Invitation Homes after the financial crisis, and sold the assets (33,000 homes) at the end of 2019.

You worked to pay off two homes, and the homeless guy gets to take that home without working or paying for it. I see inequity there.

He did not say homes. He said properties.

And he never mentioned the appraised value either.

My son owns 2 homes he paid in full and is just 62. I have a son in Hawaii who builds very expensive homes for the rich and his homes are paid for too. He spent a hell of lot of money trying to get Trump reelected.

Why does anyone think they have the right to squat in someone else's property for free?

Don’t look at me, I’m not the one screaming about inequity and using CRT to spread the word. That would be the guy I was responding to. But I do see your point and agree with it.

I don’t. Homeless often have less education or less of a job history. Why do the jobless deserve the same as the working?

So would you be okay being forced to let people stay in those homes rent free by law? You do realize someone owns these places that the renters are in.
