Last night the New York Times reported Mick Mulvaney, who simultaneously holds two top positions in the Trump administration, admitted to a group of bankers that, as a Congressman, he sold access to lobbyists.

“We had a hierarchy in my office in Congress. If you’re a lobbyist who never gave us money, I didn’t talk to you. If you’re a lobbyist who gave us money, I might talk to you,” Mulvaney said.

    Will Trumpers care?

    I think not.

Their idea of "the swamp" is different from what normal folks would expect it to be

Of course Trump wanted to drain the swamp. He just neglected to mention what he wanted to fill it back up with, and conservatives didn't bother to ask him that question.

Sounds like a democrat. You think this never goes on in Congress?

Republican Duke Cunningham's "Menu of corruption"

Numbers on the left are contracts in the millions. Numbers on the right are "costs" (bribes) in the thousands required to get those contracts.

Cunningham is out of jail now I believe. Maybe Trump will appoint him Sec of Defense huh?

Trump drained the swamp; then filled it up with sewage.

Don't the constituents have the final say on who they want in office?

Yes, I challenged one of our Trumpster friends to tell us who the "Swamp" was. After all, if this is such a big deal, than it should be fairly evident who the big players are and what they're up to,'

Same with the imaginary "Deep State".

All I got was the same collection of empty phrases and slogans., No substance of any sort.

Which is what tells you this focus group tested nonsense is nothing but the bogey man.

The permanent tale of far right wingers through American history that steadfastly believe that there is a secret cabal of shodowy power that really runs things.

This does three things., It tells the true believers that they have no real control and that their lives are controlled by unknown secret conspiracy., This absolves them from any responsibility for anything politicsal, and even better, it absolves conservative politicians from responsibility for living up to promises. Finally, it absolves the lazy from actually being well informed or participating in public life because, after all, there's nothing on can do, it's the imaginary "deep state" that is in charge. And ordinary folk are net meant to undersand these things.

Already, Trump has a built in free pass to right wing martyrdom.
