House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) hopes to keep the House majority past the midterms are slimming as droves of vulnerable Democrats continue to announce retirement or seek higher office instead of fighting tough reelection. Democrats are also facing redistricting across the country and a president whose approval ratings are cratering.

So far, 13 Democrats have decided to officially call it quits on the House, leaving their seats open for a competitive fight and giving Republicans a chance to gain another seat. House Republicans only need to net five seats to gain the majority and retire Pelosi as the speaker.

This week, two longtime Democrats, Reps. David Price (D-NC) and Mike Doyle (D-PA), both loyal confidants to Pelosi, announced their retirement. Additionally, last week Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY), another Pelosi loyalist and chairman of the House Budget Committee, announced he was retiring from public life.

Dems are going to face some real difficulties in the upcoming mid terms.

Biden is unpopular, inflation is up, the economy is sluggish, foreign relations are strained, and dems aren't offering solutions other than communism.

Its almost like these demrats are jumping ship.

Trump told republicans not to vote in 2022 or 2024, we will see if they are still listening to Trump

You know what I miss? The COVID death clocks running on all the MSM tickers. Wonder why we don't see those anymore.

Did anybody actually expect The Dems to hold The House?

At this point--They just need to avoid a total disaster.

    They already are a disaster.

And these are competitive seats more likely to be won by Republicans over the new openly Marxist young dems.

If you think it can't get worse, today I read that Harris is going to campaign for McAuliffe.

Lol 26 republicans didn’t run again in 2020. So I guess things are twice as good for dems now?

Do Republicans honestly believe that the American electorate will rise in defense of some nutbar's FFRREEEDDOMMM to kill them or even better, their children, in order to either mollify Trump's feelings or keep Bill Gates from turning us all magnetic? Right now most people see Republicans as a rich man's club devoted entirely to killing us all so they can have more money to give to centibillionaires. 2022 will mark the beginning of the end for the GOP and they will lose so bad in 2024 that I doubt they will even field a candidate in 2028

I'm fairly certain that most people do not see what you think they see. Right now, most people see a Democrat party that has totally screwed up the economy and wants to double down. They don't really like it that Biden/Pelosi wants to put every family $331,000 in debt. They don't like to see the floods of people coming across the border with no vaccinations and they don't like to see Americans left for dead in a foreign country.

Yes, I did just make up the part about what "most people see" just like you did. It's really easy it is to just shoot your mouth off with no data.

In the absence of another mass wave, come midterms people probably wont be as angry about COVID as they were during the second half of last year and the first half of this one. Its human nature to have a ephemeral memory and instead focus on the now, or in this case the then - being what life is like around midterm season. What we know for almost an absolute certainty is that inflation will continue rising throughout this year and into the next and our supply chain shortages will not be any better in Oct 2022 as they are now in Oct 2021. We'll also likely be dealing with the onset of a major market correction sometime next year and if certain things pan out the mortgage rates will also inflate around the same time, combined with a shortage of construction materials and higher costs for what is available resulting in an housing market that is just unsustainable.

If all three of these factors combine there is only one result: an economic crash and subsequent prolonged recession. Do you imagine voters will care about the Republican COVID failures, or whatever BLM riots will be manufactured next year, or the 6-Jan bloviating that will absolutely be dragged out through the entirety of the midterm election season? Or do you think they'll care more about the fact that we had a historic record breaking economy and the minute we handed the reigns over to a senile frail Democrat things fell to an absolutely unmitigated level of ****?

midterms are often bad for the sitting President, but if Trump gets involved in 2022, could be a good thing for the dems

don't forget Trump lost the house in 2018

will Biden do what Trump could not, keep the house?

They see history as repeating itself. A while back we had inflation, gas lines and an international crisis which was mishandled by the president. The result was Reagan won 44 states and got 489 electoral votes to Carter's almost nothing. Today we have all that plus a border crisis, a shipping crisis, a china virus crisis and a lack of credibility crisis. Brandon's team is going to get slaughtered.

    Don't be like Jimmy Carter.

If the house stays in the hands of dems, trust me, it will have nothing to do with Biden. Right now there hasn't been a single thing democrats can hang their hat on because of Biden, in fact, both Biden and Harris are considered a drag on the down elections. All the left can do is figure out who their opponents will be and then let the DNC and media begin their campaigns of hate. That was the goal with Trump before he even took office and that will be the goal for the democrats for every election going forward until that tactic no longer works.

agree, it will hing on what Trump does, if Trump goes all out, it will get the dem vote out

if Trump stay out of it, dems may lose the House which is normally what happens to a sitting Presidents party during a midterm

most people are not a political as people here, the out of office party is almost always more motivated to get out and vote

Everybody is and will be feeling the skyrocketing fuel prices. The GOP would be wise to make that the point of their campaign spear.

I have no doubt they will. And border security. And the rule of law.

These are.winning issues for the GOP.

Bidens own cabinet is giving the GOP future ads...

We all know what's going to happen, right before the 2022 elections Biden is going to announce he defeated the china virus and anyone who talks about it still being dangerous, deadly or anything like that will be banned from social media for spreading disinformation.
