They wouldnt. That was more of the same silliness in the press making out "secret polling data" to be of some great value to the Russians enabling them to alter the election. When the data was already in the media. Likely shared with them for the same reason, to show that Trump could win the election.

Speaking as a retired intelligence officer, I can assure you that information of no value is often passed on to intelligence services.

 

More than mere dirty politics, it was a damocles sword over the US Presidency. Unprecedented in history and had never happened before(and Trump was right that by god it should never happen again to any President, or at least that the standards are higher than rumors and inneudo.)

This same damocles sword is the reason for the interactions among us as US Citizens today, for a good while treating those who supported Trump as 'supporting the Russians'. I will never forgive anything that transpired during Crossfire Hurricane. As agents of our premier law enforcement agency, they were obligated to the truth. Instead, they peddled half truths before the Republic.

 

And Mueller was not allowed to follow the freakin' money. Talk about the fix being in. In addition, we still don't know the outcome of the counter intelligence OP that Mueller passed on to the FBI. It's likely still in play.

Meanwhile Muellar says he doesnt know what Fusion GPS is and Christopher Steele is on TV saying the Russians probably still have the pee tape. And the really amazing thing is that half the Americans probably believe him.

Absurd that these FISA courts created to protect us from foreign terrorists to prevent a repeat of 9/11 havent been eliminated.

 

The FISA court has a legitimate role.

 

Im more concerned with the role IT IS playing. Imagine, if this is the standard, accepting fabricated evidence to conduct searches and seizures of information from those around the President of the United States, imagine what it is for foreigners around those believed to be involved in international terrorism. Im all for doing everything we can to prevent foreign Islamic terrorism, but not if we have to accept such blatant violations of the Constitutional rights of Americans as the price.

It does, however we were promised safeguards to prevent exactly what happened from happening. A politicized intelligence community is more dangerous than none. If the IC can't responsibly use the tool of the FISA court, it should be removed, and since we have gone through this entire charade without even the false promise of reform, than getting rid of the FISA court should be a priority for the next non corrupt administration.

 

AFAIK the only problem was within the FBI. That is not a problem in the whole "IC."
