It's disappearing in baby steps which is a good and bad thing; good in the sense that sea level rise and other issues will slowly materialize...but bad in the sense that too many people don't believe the science and potential...

There will be a claim that this was the warmest year. That may be true but the reason it was is because of the El Nino which is a naturally occurring phenomenon and is not caused by CO2. The El Nino ended the middle of this year. Global average temperatures over land have plummeted by more than 1C since the middle of this year, their biggest and steepest fall on record. According to satellite data, the late 2016 temperatures are returning to the levels they were at after the 1998 El Nino which means we are back to the Hiatus temperatures.

Polar ice decreasing at both poles due to global warming...

Sea Ice Falls to Record Low at Both Poles
March 22, 2017 — The extent of sea ice in the Arctic Ocean has set a new record low for the wintertime in a region strongly affected by long-term trends of global warming, U.S. and European scientists said Wednesday.

So now you are all into forest preservation? Yeah, right.

Anyway, carbon sinks are useful but whilst we are still growing our net greenhouse gas release they can never be a solution. Next year we will burn more oil than any other prior year, as well as more gas and even coal.

Fossil fuels are flora from millions of years ago, compounded eons of sunken growth. An equivalent capture mechanism to current levels of CO2 release is simply not feasible.

Take a look at Miami Beach.

    Read the Chesapeake Bay plan.

It doesn't take a scientist to recognize that change is happening.

Rising sea level is one byproduct of melting Polar ice but what about ocean salinity and ocean circulation? As more fresh water is added to the ocean, when and how is this going to effect ocean currents?
