Well, perhaps it would be a bit more accurate to say that Ken Osmond--who played "Eddie Haskell" in the late 1950s to early 1960s TV show, Leave it to Beaver--is dead. (According to the report that I have read, he died of COPD and peripheral artery disease.) As Ken Osmond was typecast as Eddie Haskell, he did find it difficult to find other work acting (although he did manage to land a few stints). But just to pay the bills, he worked, instead, as a Los Angeles police officer, between 1970 and 1988. Reportedly, he died with his family at his bedside.
Yes, I believe that he was shot five times: Four of the bullets were deflected by his bullet-proof vest, whereas the other went off his belt buckle.
Eddie Haskell was the guy you loved to hate. I've known for years that Osmond was a hero policeman. RIP. He was indeed a good man.
Yes, he was, indeed, a hero--shot no fewer than five times. (Fortunately, four of those shots were absorbed by his bullet-proof vest, whereas the other deflected off his belt buckle.)
