There are people who believe that the world's problems are rooted in ego, and that doing anything at the political level is ego-driven and thus a part of the problem.

    They are wrong – completely.

The problems of the world are not rooted in ego. They are rooted in wrong choices that people make. This can most certainly come from ego; but it can also come from any number of other things than ego. They can come from deliberate negative intent. Or they can come from error. And these, once again, can have any number of possible sources, from bad intent to bad thinking.

Me escaping the world or meditating away my ego would solve absolutely nothing. It may improve my state of mind or even my character; but it will not solve things such as global warming and gender war. What would solve our problems is direct, honest, intelligent action toward that effect. And there are plenty of things that need to be done in the world.

Am I driven in this by ego? No. I am driven in this by wanting my daughter to inherit a better world than did I. I am driven in this by love, which is what spiritual people are meant to be driven by.

Even if someone is motivated by ego, that does not mean that he is going to be doing wrong. Bill Gates is an egomaniac, but he computerized the world and contributed billions of dollars toward fighting AIDS in Africa. Certainly ego can go wrong; but it also can go right. Yes Hitler had a big ego; but so do any number of major contributors, and most of them are not doing evil.

Another claim I have heard is that I am driven by power. I for one do not seek to kill or to rule anyone. I seek to influence thought with better ideas. And there are plenty of these at https://sites.google.com/site/ilyashambatthought.

Now there are many of such people who talk about responsibility; but I do not see them practicing it. Responsibility does not mean having a huge house and a Hummer. Responsibility means leaving the world a better place than you have found it. It is completely wrong to portray concern for such things as lack of responsibility or “victim consciousness” or anything of the sort. You are here. You are taking up resources. It is your responsibility to make the place better for you having been in it.

Should we throw away spirituality? No. We should however throw away bad thinking, and in these situations this is what we see. Positive thinking or anything of the sort solves absolutely nothing. In fact it causes more problems than it solves. You think positive, you fail to anticipate problems, you do foolish things.

Negative thinking is not the solution either. A negative thinker would portray anything good as yet another, sneakier way to do evil; and after being treated that way by a number of people who have that mentality I finally had enough of it and decided to cut them out of my life. Negative thinking would have us convinced that we are not able to solve our problems. That is completely wrong. We most certainly are capable of solving our problems. It just takes intelligence and guts.

Neither positive thinking nor negative thinking begin to be the solution. The real solution is real thinking and real action in its pursuit. Removing ourselves from the fire accomplishes nothing. We need to apply ourselves toward solving the world's problems. It does not matter if someone thinks that this is of the ego. What matters is leaving the world a better place than we have found it; and that can have any number of possible motivations. In my case, once again, the motivation is love.

So it is time that real problems be confronted by real action. And that means among other things throwing away deceptions such as what we see in the New Age movement and doing what actually needs to be done. And there are plenty of things that need to be done.

This also applies to home problems within the personal family homes, I think.

"What would solve our problems is direct, honest, intelligent action toward that effect."

No problems at home is a happy family?

Here is the crazy remedy: I desire to fix the problem by being like the problem.. if my family member is an alcoholic, I will be a drinker to show him/her how foolish he/she is behaving. If a member is acting blind to the problem, I will act blind..

This applies to society as well. If a speedster is exceeding decibel allowances in a city, I will do likewise; hoping I will make a change for the better.

This is an example of poor law enforcing:

    San Jose, CA Noise Ordinance
Title 10 PUBLIC PEACE, MORALS AND WELFARE

Chapter 10.16 OFFENSES AGAINST PUBLIC PEACE

    Parts:

    Part 1: DISTURBING THE PEACE

    Sections:

    10.16.010 Disturbing the peace prohibited.

No person shall disturb the peace, quiet and comfort of any neighborhood by creating therein any disturbing or unreasonably loud noise.

    (Prior code § 4231; Ord. 24198.)

See the problem but not deal effectively but only hopefully and presumptuously.

    B. The following types of noises are declared to be disturbing to the peace, quiet and comfort of the neighborhood in which they are heard, and persons creating such noises are in violation of Section 10.16.010:

    1. The sounding of any horn, signal or noise device on any automobile, motorcycle, bus, truck or other vehicle, in any other manner or for any other purpose than allowed by the California Vehicle Code or other laws of the state;

    2. The noise from an exhaust system of any vehicle which is not equipped or constructed so as to prevent any disturbing or unreasonably loud noise;

    3. The revving of the engine of any motor vehicle while such vehicle is not in motion, except when done in the course of repairing, adjusting or testing it;

    4. Disturbing or unreasonably loud shouting or crying of peddlers, hawkers, vendors or newspaper carriers;

    5. The playing or operating of any radio, phonograph, orchestra or other musical device or instrument in a manner that is disturbing or unreasonably loud to a reasonable person outside the facility or unit from which the noise emanates; and

    6. Disturbing or unreasonably loud shouting, screaming, wailing or other vocalization that is disturbing or unreasonably loud to a reasonable person outside the facility or unit from which the noise emanates.

    (Prior code § 4232; Ord. 24198.)

A disregard to maintain these ordinances will cause even the sane and lawful person to begin shouting above allowed permissions.

No one likes to quiet down more than quiet already is. The more quiet the lawful person becomes, the more the noise causes physical injuries to that person.

It's not difficult to ask smokers to use the designated areas, and if not, to contact proper authorities. If the smokers are being defiant, many will be a bit more assertive. And if the assertiveness is disregarded time and time again, the person might raise the voice a bit.

Noise health effects are the physical and psychological health consequences of regular exposure, to consistent elevated sound levels. Elevated workplace or environmental noisecan cause hearing impairment, hypertension, ischemic heart disease, annoyance, and sleep disturbance. Changes in the immune systemand birth defects have been also attributed to noise exposure.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency authored a pamphlet in 1978 that suggested a correlation between low-birthweight (using the World Health Organization definition of less than 2,500 grams (88 oz) and high sound levels, and also high rates of birth defects in places where expectant mothers are exposed to elevated sound levels, such as typical airport environs. Specific birth abnormalities included harelip, cleft palate, and defects in the spine.

When young children are regularly exposed to levels of noise that interfere with speech, they may develop speech or reading difficulties, because auditory processing functions are compromised. Children continue to develop their speech perception abilities until they reach their teens. Evidence has shown that when children learn in noisier classrooms, they have more difficulties understanding speech than those who learn in quieter settings.

Environmental noise regulations usually specify a maximum outdoor noise level of 60 to 65 dB(A), while occupational safety organizations recommend that the maximum exposure to noise is 40 hours per week at 85 to 90 dB(A). For every additional 3 dB(A), the maximum exposure time is reduced by a factor 2, e.g. 20 hours per week at 88 dB(A). Sometimes, a factor of two per additional 5 dB(A) is used, however, these occupational regulations are acknowledged by the health literature as inadequate to protect against hearing loss and other health effects.

    wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_effects_from_noise

Children, adults and the aged live in all communities. If noise pollution is a concern for the average adult, it is a concern to the children and aged within that community, as well.

Citizens have a right and duty for civil law keeping. Neglecting to deal with these resident noise makers is disrupting the well being lives of the other citizens. If such noise makers are citizens themselves, they are showing no concern to the other residents in that community in which they presumably reside. And this is a form of terroristic nuisance.

Many times, these constant trouble makers are taken to the State Hospital for psychiatric services.

In a study conducted by Cornell University in 1993, children exposed to noise in learning environments experienced trouble with word discrimination, as well as various cognitive developmental delays.[34][35] In particular, the writing learning impairment dysgraphia is commonly associated with environmental stressors in the classroom.[36]

High noise levels have also been known to damage the physical health of small children. Children from noisy residences often have a heart rate that is significantly higher (by 2 beats/min on average) than those of children from quieter homes.

Researchers uncovered that individuals who are exposed to high levels of noise not only are at the highest risk for hearing loss, but their risk of heart disease increases as well.

Lead author, Dr. Wen Qi Gan, said, “Compared with people with normal high-frequency hearing, people with bilateral high-frequency hearing loss were approximately two times more likely to have coronary heart disease.”

In the meantime, hearing loss is irreversible; the use of hearing aids or a cochlear implant must be used in order to assist seniors with hearing.

Noise pollution is bad, but there is also another condition known as secondhand noise – when people endure noise they have not created – that is also bad for your hearing. For example, a fire truck passes by you with its sirens on. Researchers say this can be just as harmful as firsthand noise, similar to the effects of secondhand smoke. Another example is that electricians typically work in quiet environments, but if they are working on a construction site they are at risk of secondhand noise brought on by the construction.

Unlike like second hand smoke, noise pollution is punishable by law and in large doses to constancy. 1 smoker cannot do what noise pollution can, given the smoker is courteous to not smoke in enclosed small areas, like restaurants.

The amount of tobacco producing carcinogens 1 smoker produces with one cigarette cannot be compared to a motor vehicle stopped at a red light with the motor running in the same proximity to the non smoker as the smoker is. 10 feet away from the smoker compared to 10 feet away from the running exhaust, both with the same wind travel and direction, cannot be compared.

Other than the added ingredients to the cigarette, not the tobacco.

The chemicals used in the manufacturing and curing process is where the carcinogens are found. Not the tobacco plant/leaves, themselves.

[IMG] this is only 1 picture.

Tobacco, since it began being manufactured, has turn from a naturally growing plant to a plant being tossed back and forth in heated duscussions.

There isn't a huge debate on whether the food industry should be scrutinized for non disclosed GMO related illnesses or diseases.

GMOs in Dairy. Although banned in most other industrialized nations due to the health risks to humans and harm to the animals, Monsanto's genetically engineered recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH or rBST) is still injected into dairy cows in the US to increase milk-production.

It's really strange why non 'street' residents 'hang out' or walk on residential streets. The term mainly used is 'vagrancy'.

Both vagrant and vagabond ultimately derive from the Latin word vagari, meaning "wander"

    Sirach 36:25-26
"If property is not fenced in, thieves will wander in and help themselves. And if a man has no wife, he is a sighing wanderer; people have no more trust in a homeless person who sleeps in a different place every night than they have in a wandering thief who goes from town to town."

Why Is My Boy Wandering Tonight?
    President N. Eldon Tanner

First Counselor in the First Presidency

Where is my wandering boy tonight, the boy of my tend’rest care:

The boy that was once my joy and light, the child of my love and prayer?

    Once he was pure as morning dew, as he knelt at his mother’s knee;

No face was so bright, no heart more true, and none was so sweet as he.

Oh, where is my boy tonight? where is my boy tonight?

My heart o’erflows, for I love him, he knows,

Oh, where is my boy tonight?

    Anonymous

This morning I should like to rephrase this question and ask, “Why is my boy wandering tonight?” and apply it to all who may be wandering.

As I speak to you this beautiful Sabbath morning, I humbly pray that the Spirit and blessings of the Lord will attend us and be with us always.

I well remember, and some of you may also remember, singing the song “Where Is My Wandering Boy Tonight?” Our beloved president and prophet, Spencer W. Kimball, used to sing this song with such great feeling that many were moved to tears. Let me read the words:

Why do people, even adults, wander? Adults probably due to disabilities with age being a factor. But for youths? Why do they never age?

7, 8, 9, 10 years later, they are still right where they were.

Same parks, same parking lots, same roads... 7, 8, 9, 10 years later.

How were they and how are they receiving any sorts of Government or private benefits? Food stamps, disability, workers comp, etc...

Do they not eat or drink or do any kinds of 'drugs'?

10 years later and I'm still trying to find a way into the 'better life'.

    Growth. Growth is better.

1 Corinthians 3:7 "So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase."

What does a person feel or think or receive or have faith when the 'increase' part is not there, after 10 years?

    Where is GOD?

GOD can be found and sought after when there is increase around. But with no increase, where is GOD?

Where is GOD for THOSE that are seeking HIM and for those that need HIS Guidance and Help?

Noise pollution does not target. GOD either IS or isn't.

I never thought that keeping life amidst all the deathly noise pollution could be where GOD IS and was.

But still the wanderers. The noise... they seem to be doing just fine.

Since this is the case, I need to await while being kept alive amidst all the death.

This isn't only applied to me. There are others; young, adult, aged.

Without physical bodies, a person cannot be taken out of their comfort and well being livelihood. But with physical bodies, the person can choose whether to go or not. The personal choice to go should not have ANY effect nor affect on those that do not choose to go. Persons personal choices are theirs. I do not need to be effected by another choosing to do drugs everyday if it is within their personal doings, which would not have me involved in any way.

I shouldn't need to be drunk if I don't drink.

This also includes being a victim to oppressive crime.

When noise pollution is not dealt with, it effects everyone, regardless of choice.

And it is from this point that 'morailty' of that community, society, becomes an issue. Should a person, an individual person, have rights to disturb those that do not want to participate in the personal choices of others?

Depending on the community, the question is... Should this 'new' 'normal' be accepted? Should tight jeans on guys be accepted into this community as a new accepted part of community living? Children, adults and aged who have been a part of the 'morality' are the ones who will be effected.

The 'new entries' are as wanderers which wandered in.

When there are no family or work obligations, what need would a person have in any residentialed town or place?

School, college, is family obligations. Either towards parents who might be assisting with tuition costs or family, personally, seeking to provide for a better future family, with self included.

Otherwise it's a spending of tuition costs, from whichever source, needlessly.

With government assistance, graduating from class to class is required for government paid tuition.

So what could it be? A changing of morals in that community/society? That would depend on every family, worker and child.

Individuals shouldn't be seeking to disrupt families, workers and children for the loosening of the morals, if they desire to enter into the community/society.

Rectal tears and ruptures can occur because of these anal protrusions.

How long is the anal tract??

    about 4 cm

The anal canal is completely extraperitoneal. The length of the anal canal is about 4 cm (range, 3-5 cm), with two thirds of this being above the pectinate line (also known as the dentate line) and one third below the pectinate line

Even medical diagrams are becoming sexual.

    So what is morality?

Today's top earners are those that advocate free choice with no stigma or personal biasness attached.

That does not stop with sexual pleasure preferences. It also goes for drug of choice preferences.

Youths and young able bodied adults aside for a moment. The children will eventually become youths and young able bodied adults.

Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

    Or

'Train up your child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.'

    Is not caring ego related?

With so many roads and sidewalks and buildings to walk around, across, through, how does a person stay sober minded to anything else that is not part of those roads, streets, sidewalks, and buildings?
