I figure it is about time to begin the election prognosticating...I believe the GOP will gain around 6-8 seats in the House and 9 (yes 9) in the senate (maybe 10).

We are seeing a wave though the left is still in denial. This is why I say that.

After 8 months in which the generic polls had the Dems a consistent 3-4 points ahead of the GOP, the last few weeks has seen a sea change.

The graph represents 6 separate national polls

Here is a opinion piece on the change

    http://hotair.com/archives/2014/09/...a-lead-on-the-generic-ballot-and-its-growing/

    What do other folk think?

Oh, and before folk whine about the source, note that the opinion is theirs but the polls come from Real Clear.

I appreciate the effort of posting this information.

But, there are so many things that can happen between now and November, there is no real way to determine the outcome. We conservatives can but hope.

The only polls I ever rely on - and there's a lot of questions still about voter fraud - are the ones that close at the end of Election Day.

I agree with yout except, one has to see a wave begin eventually or there is no wave...A 'no wave' election this years means a pickup of 6-7 in the Senate and 3 or 4 in the House, I believe we ARE seeing a wave, we are about a month into it and the polls are lagging (just beginning to reflect it)

I really think this will be a blow out,,,

The best and most accurate poll will be conducted on Election Day. Then we'll all know for sure.

And that is simply incredible given that the majority of people in this country are not rich and they surely know and realize that if the Republicans were to win and take control of the Senate, already having the House, everyone from Women to the Elderly, to the Disabled, Children, Minorities, the poor, etc. can Kiss Goodbye to many things they could have obtained under the Democrats.

True, but in the meantime we can speculate

An admission of bought votes perhaps?

If the MAJORITY of Americans REGISTER and actually VOTE in 2014... Republicans would have to step a little closer to the reality they are apparently running from.

And that's what it takes for the Democrats to Win and Retain Control of the U.S. Senate, for unregistered voters to Get Busy NOW and register to vote or see their gains and what they are rightfully entitled to erode under Republican control. Those Democrats who are merely lazy and complacent need to get up off the couch and Get Out To Vote. If they do not realize that now they will live to regret it for a long time to come. No doubt about that!

Nice spin but quite wrong! I'm talking about the benefits people have worked so hard for all of their life and have earned that they are rightfully entitled to that would be severely CUT under Republicans once they gain control over people's lives in this country. Things like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Equal Pay, Equal Rights, as well as many other VITAL services. That is why people who are not wealthy should have no business or reason voting Republican. It just doesn't benefit them one iota and only contributes to them shooting themselves in the foot and losing what gains they have made under Democrats that help them more than Republicans ever could or would ever want to.

You are truly into the Party Line, aren't you? Do you cut and paste this stuff from your DNC reading list?

As no one is speaking of actually cutting any entitlement, your argument strikes me as a panicked strawman. Perhaps folk will see the actual damages being done by the Regime and count these as worse than imaginary damage promised by the left if sanity returns to government.

No brag just Fact. Quit being in denial so much. Your party has always stood for CUTS to vital services the American people need and deserve to retain. You can argue all you want but at the end of the day the people know what your party stands for and what they will not do to help them vs. what the Democrats have done to help them and will continue to do by retaining the U.S. Senate and other offices.

I am for retaining what the people rightfully deserve to have that they have earned, that would surely be eliminated by Republican control.

Perhaps you are referring to 'cuts' using DemSpeak, in which not getting as big an INCREASE as promised by dems buying votes is proclaimed a 'cut'...no, a Draconian Cut.

This also lets the left define which programs are 'vital services'....'vital' to keeping bread on the plates of bought dems....

Sorry, I do not grant either affectation.

Well you'd better start thinking about that 'affectation' and damn hard at that. You opened this door about votes being bought.

Let's talk about what's really going on with reports coming in about Republicans and vote buying shall we?
What do you have to say about the following stories? And I'm sure glad you brought up the subject of vote buying as that is something that we certainly needed to discuss about Republicans.

How Republicans Buy Voters. And Votes.

Republican Says Rich People Should Get More Votes Than Everyone Else

Oh and there's plenty more! This is just the tip of the iceberg on this vote-getting scandal and Republicans.

I believe that the nation is so ignorant that we will fall farther in the depths of liberalism.

You're on the right track. But you guys really need to get your war-on-women propaganda machine cranked up between now and November. And frankly, you guys are ignoring the black vote. I thought for sure by September there would be some sort of reparations bill being introduced (or at least promised to be introduced). Blacks are not motivated because Obama's not on the ballot and the polls show Obama losing women, because they don't think Obama is keeping the country safe.

Well, there is no chance that Obama is going to figure out what to do about terrorism before the elections, so you only have the war-on-women card to play to get them back.

Oh and my prediction: 6 seat gain of Republicans in the Senate.

I say nothing about them as the efforts pale next to buying individual votes through unlimited social programs funded by the other party. Good heavens, at least the evil GOP uses its own money...

Nope, this year, unless something truly the result of divine intervention, like two months of million plus job creation and the turning of ISIS into pillars of salt, for which Obama is seen to be responsible, the left is going to take a historic drubbing, a greater one than folk see or expect today.

Yep. You are correct. Between their gerrymandering and voter suppression, it's going to take a strong effort to defeat those 'cheaters' on the Right.

These claims of yours have been debunked before, but for whatever reason you insist on continually asserting false claims. The GOP gerrymandered - so have the Democrats. Gerrymandering is nothing new, nor is it unique to either party. But a quick look at the changes in EV following the 2010 census indicate clearly that it is a population shift that has tilted towards the GOP. Look for yourself.

And what if there were NO redistricting whatsoever? Oh, guess what? The GOP would still have won the House.

If you want to blame an evil culprit, blame geography. It is, according to Nate Silver, the primary reason why districts favor Republicans. Not "cheaters on the Right."

    Facts are a

Since Repubs were easily able to maintain House control in 2012 despite more Americans voting for the Democratic candidate, and since far more Americans vote for the Democratic Senate candidate, Repubs doing better in sparsely-populated states, 2014-2016 should be the Angry White Guys' swan song. (Congressional Repubs currently enjoy 21% approval/ 72% disapproval.)

The war between the Party corporate elite's toadies, TP berserkers, and theocratic evangelatollahs on Capitol Hill will be waged whilst Democrats just enjoy watching the mayhem.

2016 will make it 6 out of the last 7 national elections that more Americans vote Democratic, and the Senate will revert to Democratic rule. House elections will still be loaded in Repubs' favour since gerrymandered districts won't change before 2020, but by then the GOP, as an existenial necessity, will be crawling back toward the political centre where the votes are.

During the 114th Congress, the Affordable Care Act will not be repealed, Sam the Sham's disastrous "Red State Model" will not be adopted for the nation, and the Repubs will fail to pass comprehensive immigration reform, raise the minimum wage, require equal pay for equal work regardless of gender, or establish common sense background checks to prevent homicidal maniacs and criminals from easily acquiring their weapons - all issues supported by most Americans.

If the GOP ever finds a presidential candidate before 2016, he will be cut out to succeed Jefferson Davis, but not Barrack Obama.

Generally, yes. One need not be the world's greatest political analyst or pundit to see that the Right has made for themselves a hard bed to rest in. Whatever the we want to call it, political KARMA is swiftly coming their way.
