But the most stunning discovery about the life of O.C. Sarah Smith Crawford is that her husband, Ms. Warren’s great-great-great grandfather, was apparently a member of the Tennessee Militia who rounded up Cherokees from their family homes in the Southeastern United States and herded them into government-built stockades in what was then called Ross’s Landing (now Chattanooga), Tennessee–the point of origin for the horrific Trail of Tears, which began in January, 1837.

This new information about Ms. Warren’s true heritage came as a direct result of a lead provided to me by William Jacobson over at Legal Insurrection, who in turn had received the information from one of his readers. Jacobson, who has questioned Warren’s explanation for her law faculty listing, calls this discovery “the ultimate and cruelest irony” of the Warren Cherokee saga.

So Warrens great great great grandfather rounded up the Cherokee and expelled them from their homeland.

You can read all about the Cherokee removal here...

Id like to see someone investigate if Warrens ancestors fought for the confederacy, owned slaves, or were members of the KKK.

They were probably Democrats so it's very likely.

She's blowing her Presidential aspirations before she even gets off the ground.

The test does not test for tribal content only ancestry, which in Warren's case was a small amount of American Indian.

So the OP is fake news.

If the ToT link is true (Breitbart's as good a source as any these days, and better in some cases than WaPo or the NYT), Warren's chances of becoming the first Faux Native American POTUS are not looking good. :(

    Sad days, yes.

    And sadly so.

WaPo is an advertising circular for Bezos, and the NYT has been a joke for some time.

Brietbart is revolting, but at least as good a news source as the equally revolting publications mentioned above.

    So,,,,,,,,,
If your ancestry decides your station in politics, there should be reciprocity.

I have documentation regarding my IMMEDIATE families actions with regards to the founding/service to this republic.

I have a direct descendant who served with the Marque De Lafayette in the Revolutionary War.
I have three direct decedents who served for numerous Officers in the War of 1812.
I have four direct decedents who served for the union army in the American civil war.......three of which were wounded, one severely shot in the neck and lived to tell the tale.
My family lived in the northwest corner of Pennsylvania, and NEVER owned slaves. They were rabid abolitionists.

Do I get a free ride to the senate?

    If not......why not.

So a claim of some native dna means another relative didnt expell the Cherokee?

    Did you read the OP?

Presidential aspirations require a tidying up of one's past. Sen Warren knows she has a black mark on her record. At the time her co-opting of the Native American identity was currency for personal advancement. However now that identity politics have intensified so too has the scrutiny of such things. Things like her DNA test and having her prior educational peers write letters claiming her alleged ancestry was never a factor are part of a strategy to clean her up prior to the 2020 election season. Events from one's past never go away but by addressing them early a candidate can point back and say they've been resolved and that they are "old news". Unfortunately this strategy isn't working because the current rule set in identity politics wont allow it to.

IMO Sen Warren has three options. She can abandon her 2020 plans, she can own her mistake and "apologize" for having co-opted the Native American identity for personal advancement (left friendly media will no doubt forgive her), or she can triple down on her 1/1024 ancestry claim and trot out enough supporters to claim that there was never any abuse of this assumed status.

No need. It’s meaningless drivel, and not even remotely one of the reasons she wouldn’t win.

Another "because I say so" who can't provide proof. If you are waiting on liberal sources to report it, you will be in for a LONG wait.

No. It’s because it doesn’t matter one bit if her great great grandpappy did. It’s a stupid story meant for the least intelligent of our society.

How the irony of life works is a mystery to me, but I love it.
