    Im just a bird watcher.

I think she has marxist tendencies but isn't quite bold enough to admit it.

As Trump stated last night, we won't be a socialist nation.

I recall you support a 75% tax on the wealthy.

For the record, I think you are a good forumite, and a lefty who can actually write.

    I know you like Warren.

    But she's kaput.

Warren has 5 million in savings, which is comfortable but certainly doesn't make her part of the 1%, and no not every rich person abuses their power but many of the wealthy tend to abuse their power, because power corrupts, which is why most economic growth goes to the wealthy. There is no evidence that her ancestry claims resulted in any of her hirings and in fact investigations found strong evidence that it was her qualifications not affirmative action that got her jobs. personally believe that affirmative action is racist so I don't have a problem with someone circumventing it, even if they publicly support affirmative action. She apologized for claiming to be American Indian just recently, you should check the news. I accept her apology.

I am reconsidering my 75% tax position. I am thinking maybe a lower rate like 50%, or a 50% on capital gains. Another idea is a wealthy tax like Warren has suggested for the wealthy. I am a bit like Ron Paul supporters, I will support a candidate even if they have little chance of winning.

so what, she is part Indian, just not part of a tribe as Tribes do not use DNA evidence as they are very picky who they dish out Casino money too

everyone should be allowed to use Peyote, why do I have to be the right race to legally practice the Peyote religion in my own home?

Trump's family did not emigrate from Sweden like Trump said in his book, this we know

Trump lied to the Jews so they would rent from him.... they were not gonna rent from a German Drumpf

"Donald Trump claimed he was of Swedish ancestry - but it's a lie"

    http://nordic.businessinsider.com/d...s-of-swedish-ancestry---but-its-a-lie-2016-8/

"It seems the Trump family has been lying about their ancestry for a couple of generations. Donald Trump himself claimed in his book Trump: The Art of the Deal from 1987 that his father came to America as a boy, having emigrated from Sweden."

Im not quite yet part of the 1 percent-but soon will be. I don't abuse my power, and in fact don't believe I have any. I just don't have to worry about making rent or where Im eating, or paying for car repair. Its nice-but it ain't world altering. I still care about the people I meet and they know it too.

But you didn't say 1 percent-you said wealthy.

you say 5 million in savings,

Whats 5 million in savings vs the typical income?

Is Elizabeth Warren wealthy and if not, define wealth for us.

You need to stop reconsidering. It makes you look weak imo.

Im in California and pay about that these days, will know more when my accountant spits out numbers.

    You keep saying wealthy.

Im asking you to define wealthy, preferably in numeric terms.

If you were a libertarian, would you really be supporting high taxation?

BTW, greetings from California, where I have been supporting candidates with little chance of winning.

    "ooga booga from so cal!"

Sounds like we define liability a different way.

I believe that when Jeff Bazos hoards 130 billion dollars while the vast majority of Amazon employees barely make enough to make ends meet that is an abuse of power. When businesses are set to primarily benefit their owners and shareholders not their workers that is an abuse of power. When wage growth is slow even when the economy is booming that is an abuse of power. When only 8% of Trump's tax cuts went to employees but 56% went to shareholders that is an abuse of power. When drug companies and our healthcare system charge outrageous prices on sick people that is abuse of power.

I'm glad you are rich, good job for your hard work, but we need a nation where the working class benefits from economic growth too. To make it into the 1% you need to be making almost $500,000 per year consistently. Having 5 million in saving is well off, but a lot of thrifty working class Americans get that too, mostly because 1 million doesn't get you as far as it used it. For me, 10 million is when I regard you as definitely rich. I don't think there is anything wrong with being rich, and not all rich are abusing their power, but many are, and they are just doing it out of self-interest like anyone else. And that is why we have had progressive taxes for the last century to help correct those problems.

The dumbest people I know never change their minds, and some of the smartest people I work with are willing to change their minds and are open to new ideas. I believe that wealth comes in degrees, but for practical purposes lets limit this definition to the 1%. I think that taxes should be adjusted when the wealthy are doing a lot better than everyone else and be used to help working class people in ways that actually make a difference.

We can fund higher education so people can easily retrain when automation takes away jobs. We can fund social security so that retirement is more affordable. We can fund a Medicare option for all. We can fund IRAs and improved 401Ks for all workers. We can lower taxes for small businesses.

I'm from Portland Oregon and the people here just love raising property taxes and pamper the homeless. Its insane and nobody I support ever wins.

We already have that. Not even Trump is proposing a flat tax, though I frankly dont have much of a problem with it.

Ther has never been a year in my lifetime where income taxation was not progressive. Ocasio Cortez acts like she invented it.

I believe taxes should be made more progressive because the wealthy have been doing so well and most of the growth has gone to them. They can afford taxes a lot more than workers with slow wage increases can.

I believe in a business friendly free market with far less regulations, zero tax on small taxes, and greatly reduced taxes on corporations, the middle class, and the poor. But I do believe that the wealthy should pay more in taxes.
